I find the game baldurs gate 2. Shadows of Amn to be quite challenging. Maybe I'm just a scrub but I lost interest.
Also , do you still hold skyrim above the witcher 3? I mean they're both so epic I can only fantasize about them con joining into one big mash up. That will never happen lol.
But yea another thing. Jermey soule did a lot of soundtracks for the forgotten realms games and man , do they make me ache with nostalgia.
Sorry if this is all rambling I just wanna start a discussion so say anything on this topic.

Best memories would be playing the Pool of Radiance game on Nintendo as a kid. Baldur's Gate 2 would still rank as the best game though. |

I'd have to say Icewind Dale, because I actually played it before I played Baldur's Gate, and while the characters weren't as interesting (because you made all of them, and they had no backstories), I liked that you could make the party you wanted, and the fact that if fleshed out the region around Icewind Dale without just using the locations we knew from the novels set in the region. In fact, I always kind of wished that the other locations mentioned in the game would get introduced in sourcebooks or adventures outside of the video game. |

Pool of Radiance, because it got me into the setting. Nothing beats the Gold Box SSI games at the time on my trusty C128. Pool of Radiance is CLASSIC, but I also liked Curse of the Azure Bonds and Secret of the Silver Blades.
But also, Baldur's Gate 1 and 2.
Torment is not Forgotten Realms, it's Planescape :).

Baldur's Gate I & II. They're my favorite video games of all time and I still play them regularly (Enhanced Editions....eagerly awaiting Siege of Dragonspear). |

Baldur's Gate I and II + expansion. I will however say that only after the levelcap was removed. I ended up having a level 50 Mage. That was AWESOME! Alas - I never completed the Throne of Bhall expansion... it was too dificult. I want to point out, that I solo-played the game with my mage. Yeah... thats right. I am that good!   |

Like most people I liked the Baldurs Gate games in the 90s and before that Menzoberranzan and the Eye of the Beholder series (which were all pretty much the same game with different maps, etc), but the Nintendo version of Pool of Radiance will always hold a special place in my heart, right next to the NES versions of The Bards Tale and Ultima V (neither were FR, but both were RPG). Since then graphics and sound have improved incredibly, but the games have never reached the heights they did in the good ol' Nintendo days. |

Neverwinter Nights 2 with all its expansions by far. Next up Baldur's Gate series.
I also liked Pool of Radiance.
I've tried FR games since NWN2 and they have universally been horrible. That weird mobile games, Neverwinter Online, all of it gag me, just aweful.
This doesn't include BG enhanced edition, which I haven't tried yet.
I'd love a RPG that actually uses 5th edition rules, Legends of the Sword Coast that is nothing like 5th edition rules.
Don't get me wrong, I understand concessions to the medium, but Neverwinter Online and Sword Coast Legends don't even come close to resembling their editions, at all.

I never got the Skyrim love. It's a Bethesda game, vast but shallow. People spout about it being RP, but pretending you're a potato farmer isn't RP. It also ruined Nordic culture, turning them into stereotypical Vikings.
Anyway, on topic, Mask of the Betrayer and BG2. MotB did far more to flesh out Kelemvor and give him a decent personality than the core Realms ever did, and Myrkul was awesome. |

I always forget that Tales of the Sword Coast was a separate disc. I always installed it and considered it one and the same, even though it added some really useful items and wonderful locations to the game.
I'm so glad that I have Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition on my android tablet. |

You could play as drizzt in neverwinter right?
And what soundtracks did you enjoy the most?
They really take me to a time that never was but will always be there in me. it's hard to explain.
We humans have collaborated and created vast worlds, whether it be star wars, star trek, eragon, for gotten realms, skyrim, middle earth, etc
there are so many of these worlds out these so much culture and so much lore..
The soundtrack distinct to each really enhances the experience. |

Classic Baldur's Gate (including Tales of the Sword Coast), and Neverwinter Nights II.
I bought Skyrim on Steam...just haven't gotten around to installing it or playing it. I found the controls for Oblivion annoying, so I'm not in a big hurry to see if it has similar use requirements.

Baldur's Gate II. They actually included the ability to do spells that people actually use in-game that have a decent level of complexity to them. |

Baldur's Gate II by a mile, followed by the rest of the Infinity Engine games and the 'Gold Box' games. I liked NWN though I don't think I finished the official story, just dozens of fan made mods and persistent worlds. |

Baldur's Gate for PC will always be my favorite, followed closely by BG2. I've yet to play the gold box games. I own them, but haven't played them.
I loved Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark. I've yet to complete Sword Coast Legends. The game is saved right before the final boss, and I'm kinda not wanting it to end yet, so I'm delaying that fight.
I don't really play much outside the Realms when it comes to computer / console games. |

I fondly remember the Old Gold Box games, Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, Ect..
They weren't as "pretty" as more modern games, but they really got my imagination going and I really enjoyed the story lines in them. |

Never played the Witcher, but I love Skyrim and all TES games. I have over 2000 hours in Skyrim but still haven't "beaten" it. I find I enjoy those games more if I make characters who ignore the main quest and just do their own thing. |

Baldurs Gate II by far.
Neverwinter Nights as second place but only because of it's great multiplayer mode and internet community which made awsome persistant worlds (that often had nothing to do with the realms). Unfortunatly NVN 2 ruined that. |

Unfortunately they never really made a good 4e game for the Realms (the online wow version just isn't very good IMO) so I'd have to say a tie between Ice wind Dale 2 and Neverwinter Nights 2 |

Baldur's Gate 2 is by far my favorite realms game, with the rest of the Infinity Engine games a close second. I really liked the Dark Alliance games on the PS2 too though.
I never finished Skyrim. I played it on the PS3 and the rimlag ruined it for me. |
