Anyone remember the game Eye of the Beholder II? It took place in the temple of Darkmoon and I would like to know if it was part of the official canon and which god or goddess did it serve?

The basic rule was if it had a FR logo it was canon. New, if different, new replaced old. Which alas leads to now an old issue of continuity editor that appears to have been missing at least a few years.

"Canon", according to Ed Greenwood, is any published source relating to the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. This means that if it is for sale in paper (or digital) form then it is official Realmslore. Editors at this wiki have pointed out that this would technically make video games canon.

... that may be, but its still a bunch of meh. the video games are licensed too and thus may not be considered canon despite what many may think. wotc can have it ousted from official canon and replaced jsut the same. especially if their collective conscious considered something of an embarrassment.

general purpose is that most video games are not canon. there are some exceptions though, the bg games have novels to go with them and the wailing death of neverwinter was mentioned in the grand history of the realms book.

Most BG players hate the novels as they changed several plot points of the game.

Recent releases have actually retconned some content in the novels too.

would not know as I have not read them. dont plan on it either.

I'm currently writing a few adventure modules and in one of them I'm building a story around this temple. Once it's done I will share it.
EOB2 is not canon but I like it a lot. It's the game that turned me into a part-time nerd.
