Was the Savage Frontier supplement completely integrated into the The North box set? Also, is there a 2e supplement/book that covers strictly the Silver Marches area or am I mostly looking at 3e stuff for that?

Thanks : )

No, it was not ported across totally. FR5 remains the only Realms accessory to detail the islands off the northern Sword Coast.

TSF's "Personalities of the North" section was not carried over into TN:GTTSF.

The earlier work actually included the first published instances using the female pronouns "she" and "her" for Guenhwyvar, even though the novel editors continued to use masculine or neuter pronouns for many more books.

AD&D1E FR5 Savage Frontier supplement has very little to offer which wasn't duplicated and expanded in AD&D2E The North boxset; it looks like most of its text was copied almost verbatim.

Most of what's in the 3.5e Silver Marches is semi-timeline specific. So if your game is prior to 1370ish, the The North and the Savage Frontier have more in depth location information. I do use Silver Marches quite a lot for the weather and random encounter tables. I use Volo's for the inn/tavern information.

I've been running a Savage Frontier game and there are a number of different resources I've used:
AD&D 1e
FR1 Waterdeep and the North
FR5 Savage Frontier
AD&D 2e
The North Boxed set
3e/3.5e
Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting
City of Splendors: Waterdeep
Silver Marches

I also use Volo's Guide to the North and Volo's Guide to Waterdeep. I think there is a good bit of repeated material in the North boxed set that is originally from the 1e Savage Frontier, but since they were made for different game systems and time periods there are a few differences. I like both of those sources, and refer to them and Volo's guide the most. I haven't referred to the Waterdeep specific books all that much yet, since my party is well north of the city, and Silver Marches hasn't been all that useful to me yet either.

Volo's Guide to the North would be another one to look at. 3E did have that Silver Marches supplement too.
