Okay, I know Markustay has been absent of late (working on the very good World of Ark with Dalor at Ravenlore Press...you should really do yourselves a favor and check out their work). But...
What is the best (world) mapping software available for simply porting over continents into a conglomerate world? I want to stay in Toril/the Realms, but I want to add the main areas of Greyhawk, Mystara and Krynn combined with the continents of Khorvaire, Argonessen, Xen'drik and Sarlona from Eberron.
I plan to simply dump the Tyr region of Dark Sun into an existing desert somewhere on the map.
I'm looking for something simple and I'm not worried about real-world issues of water vs. land ratio and what have you (I can work around those myself). |

You should send Markustay a PM to ask what he uses. You may not get an answer back immediately however, his mother has fallen ill and he has little time for the computer at the moment.
EDIT: I should also note that if rumor is correct (and since I think it is I'm sharing it) MT is also doing map work for Vorpal Games on their Red Aegis project...which is going to be wonderful! |

Have you seen this? It's not very detailed, but it might be in the ballpark and give you a visual reference.
Also, there's this thread. Other than that, I've little to offer in the way of software. Best of luck, and I'd like to see that map if you do complete it! |

And btw, I'm dumping the other continents on Toril from the world and replacing them with the other setting continents. |
