So after the sun fiasco of a new sun god, really being the old sun god, I went looking for other heresy that could be fun , and come true in 5e.

One I found that can be found in Volo's Guide

That Waukeen pawned off her god powers to Graz'zt to finance her church, and eventually got captured by Graz'zt because she failed to pay on the debt. To be freed she had to give up some of her god hood, and be a figure head for Graz'zt who is the true source of power. (Much like how shar pretended to be the lady of the mist and illusion)

Where do you think we could go with this possibility?

That was a great combination. And the campaigning involved for both modules could literally run for as long as any DM would desire, given the immense roleplaying value provided by the PC's accessing the Infinite Staircase.

It was a lot of fun!

True...but Graz'zt has become one of the more powerful, and I dare say the most powerful, Demon Lords even without a fraction of Waukeen's divinty. So the question is, does he continue being a sleeper agent for Asmodeus (if he ever really was) or does he seek ways to increase his own power and influence. Given Graz'zt's nature, I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't told Asmodeus about using gaining control of Waukeen's Church. Thus, he could use the Church to attack Asmodeus without drawing attention to himself, meanwhile still appearing to be a loyal sleeper agent in the eyes of Asmodeus.

or will it, remember Grazz'et may be a sleeper agent of Asmodeus still

Well if the Blood War is brought back, and the Cult of Asmodeus is still around...then "Waukeen's Church" would undoubtedly fund all attempts to combat/hurt/discredit the Asmodi.
