Was feeling nostalgic and proceeded to reread Ed Greenwood’s “Wizards Three” short stories/articles. Afterwards, I started thinking about the other worlds that didn’t get representation in that august trio. So just for fun, Elminster (FR), Mordenkainen (GH), and Dalamar (DL) have decided to expand their group and include one more to their group. Which arcane spellcaster found in a sourcebook do you believe should be invited?

Requirements
*Campaign Settings: Aebrynis (Birthright), Athas (Dark Sun), Eberron, Golarion (Pathfinder), Mystara, Ravenloft
*Must not be undead, true outsider, dragon, giant, construct, animal, magical beast, monstrous humanoid or quasi- or demigod and higher
*Must not be a Darklord (Ravenloft), Awnsheghlien (Birthright) or Sorcerer King (Dark Sun)
*Must not be a ruler of a nation but can be head of an organization
*Must be an arcane spellcaster that grants 9th-level spells (wizard, sorcerer, or witch) and be at least 15th-level in that class
*Must be humanoid

Bonus
*The character invited is from one of the FR expansion sets – a sha’ir (Al-Qadim), a wu jen (Kara-Tur/Hordelands), or a plumaweaver/hishnashaper (Maztica).

"Skarn" made me think of "skorne", one of the races of the Iron Kingdoms... It might be interesting to see, at least as a one-off, General Adept Nemo or another prominent warcaster meeting with the Wizards Three -- especially since certain magics work very differently, in the Iron Kingdoms.

Since you allowed Golarion, I'm going to go with another D&D world from another publisher.

Skarn (from Sword & Sorcery) - Guildmaster of the Sowers of Fear, Malhadra Demos of Hollowfaust, City of Necromancers. He isn't evil (pure neutral), but he cultivates a "master of darkness" personae to put fear into others. His guild puts on plays and shows intended to entertain thrillseekers and those who like scary shows. He's covered in abstract shifting/crawling black tattoos across his bare chest, has a shaved head except for a long topknot/braid with entwined bells, and has a neatly trimmed moustache and goatee (just to give you a visual). He's also about 135 years old but appears to be 40. I think he'd fit in well with Dalamar and provide an edginess to put Elminster and Mordenkainen on their guards. If anyone was ever meant to have the nightmare spinner prestige class from Complete Mage, its him. Also, since he has 3 levels of rogue, I'd update him to 3.5 with the arcane trickster prestige class with a focus on bluff, disguise, hide, gather info, sense motive, sleight of hand, and move silently. Sure, he's a necromancer, but with the nightmare spinner, he's also kind of an illusion specialist... and with the rogue skills he a master of shadows and able to handle himself with blades. Of course, he also had to give up two schools.... not sure what they'd be, but guessing invocation and abjuration (god I love the PF rules when it comes to specialization).

It would be interesting to see Baba Yaga show up....

It would be fun to expand this little exercise to see who is the best suited candidate from all the gaming worlds. Seeing as just about every popular property or fictional world/universe has or had an RPG based on it, this could be just about any setting.

IMO, it should be someone from EB - Eberron pushed-aside both GH and DL in D&D importance in 3e.

In Golarion all mythic non-evil wizards are missing, Nex, or the Old-Mage Jatembe.

In Eberron it's even worse, except in Argonessen, there's a high level elf diviner, Elabenna.

So that's what happened to Nex - he's been stuck in Ed's dining room for centuries!

Jevvica Nor or the Iron Mage, from Ptolus: The City by the Spire.

The Skull, from the Castlemourn Campaign Setting

Or if you want to expand to other RPGs -- invite Harry Dresden, who is detailed in the Our World sourcebook for the Dresden Files RPG. Given Harry's irrepressible smart-aleck nature, I should think it would be a hell of a lot of fun to see him meeting up with the others.

I'm aware of the Simbul crashing one of the meetings (Dragon #200) but she was put off by Dalamar's attitude and wasn't made a permanent member.

What I'm imagining is a scenario after Dragon #359 with the return of Dalamar and Rautheene going back to Greyhawk (maybe she has duties and responsibilities to attend). After a while catching up, the Trio decide to expand their membership. They're looking for an arcane spellcaster from a different world than theirs that can share new magic to them. So, which spellcaster could fit in without trying to steal their magic or destroy them.

A good example would be Sadira from the Dark Sun campaign setting after the Prism Pentad debacle. Ordinarily she's a 10th-level preserver but empowered by the crimon sun of Athas, she becomes an 18th-level preserver. With that, she can conceivably hold her weight without being cowed by the trio and she brings her style of preserver magic to the table.

The Simbul attended one such gathering, and she's the ruler of a nation...

*Mutters* Mystara was stolen from BD&D and transformed much like 4th Edition transformed FR.

Khelben Arunson the Younger aka Ravencloak from the FR/GH lore

Can't recall his name currently; but:

From the World of Mystara...former Emperor of the Alphatian Empire.

Forcefully retired after a failed invasion of the Empire of Thyatis, his former home now a sunken civilization. He has moved to the Kingdom of Karameikos where he now heads the school of Wizards at Krakatos. In D&D terms he was a 36th level wizard, but in translated AD&D rules, he is a 28th level wizard.
