Posted - 16 May 2013 : 08:14:57 Elminster asks the players to do it. Faerun is under attack by a vast army of drow/demons/undead under the command of Lolth. FR is losing badly to Lolth's forces. The Old Mage notices a portal between FR and Eberron and that a small force of drow defend it. The players get involved from the Eberron side, and defeat those drow, and as they do so, they step through the portal. Elminster recruits the players to stop Lolth, having realized that she's siphoning the power of stolen dragonshards (magical mineral fragments found only in Eberron) to increase her personal power and that of her armies. Once she's finished conquering FR, it's implied she'll turn her attention to Eberron, so its up to the players to face the heart of "The Darkening" and end her threat once and for all.

Posted - 16 May 2013 : 07:27:41 They didn't really merge the two worlds together. It was more that epic-level Eberron characters get the chance to planeswalk to the Forgotten Realms, and help in the struggle against Lolth's invasion. The players get to go and adventure in Eveningstar, then the Underdark, and finally the Demonweb Pits. In all cases, it's Eberron characters visiting FR, not the other way around. |
