I know the title is a little vague, but...hello
i am currently running a drow game out of menzoberanzan in forgotten realms 1 a week and I have come to a point where my players must succeed their blooding ritual (a ritual that consists of going to the surface and slaughtering surface elves) In the process i want them to learn about the elven history, they arent very far from the "sorrowood" ( a copse of oak trees that give intense visions of the past as if you were living them) To do this i Thought that it would be a good idea to have them play people who actually existed back then and participate in actual world changing past events.
I will do this in 2 parts. 1st the crown wars (the part i need help with) and the 2nd will be cormanthyr and myth drannor ( i have most of what i need for that, they will be josidiah starym and his group as they battle the forces below the twisted tower to try and find the warblade) I have scoured the net and the NPC of the realms forum by worlocko and green giant but i have found absolutly nothing about the big players of the crown wars. I want my players to actually PLAY these olden elves but i cant find a write up anywhere. I would like you guys's (ok so im not an english major, shoot me) expertise to help me by either giving me a website where i could find what i am looking for or share their knowledge of the crown wars to help me write these npc's on my own.

Yes it was Ka'Narlist, apparently one of the mightiest mages in the history of faerun but he died long before the first crown war (alos there was a rumor that his soul may have survived in a magical pearl). |

This should be Ka'Narlist, the dark elven ruler of the city of Atorrnash, destroyed by the Sundering - or its echoes.  |

A few Miyeritar elves are named in GhotR, and the Coronal that had the shattering swords.
Look for Lord Karsus' and Snowblood's netbooks. |

AFAIK, there are no actual named elves from that period in any canon source I'm aware of. There might be a mention or two in the 2nd ed Cormanthyr book, but that's all I can think of. Mostly, only battles and a few major events are detailed in any of hte sourcebooks. Evermeet may have a few elves named, but the only one I can think of from that specific time was the Illithiri ruler (forgot his name and don't feel like hunting through books ATM...) |

Thx, i have read everything i can on the crown wars from the "history of the realms" book and from "the lost empires" book so i kinda know what goes on and what happened but what i really need is the name, history and write-up for the big players from that time in faerun. Short of that perhaps a write up of similar elves from different times that can adapted to fit as the vyshan and Ilithyri warlords, I will be concentrating on the Illithyri for obvious reasons (they are the ancestors of the drow) but since the vyshantar are the ones who play the biggest role in the crown wars i would need at least some NPC's from the Vyshanti empire. The novel Evermeet has some info on the crown wars as well as the fall of the drow (if memory serves me correctly, I no longer have the book).
The Grand History of the Realms has some info as well, but its scant at best.
One good thing though, since there isnt a ton of info on that era you are free to detail it as you wish. |
