Posted - 06 Jul 2012 : 10:03:07 Hello scribes. I need help incorporating Greyhawk's Troll-blooded regional feat into a human regional feat for FR. Is there a region where there is an abundance of trolls, and where human-troll pairings might have happened over the centuries, and where their descendants have some troll blood in them? |

Posted - 07 Jul 2012 : 02:16:22 Eric's earlier mention of troll groups in the North rekindled a long-forgotten task on my "To-Do" list which would have compiled most of the relevant troll-related info about their activities in that region of the Realms.
Having said that, The North boxed set repeatedly notes that trolls have significant populations in several areas across the frozen and tundra-themed frontiers.
And, of course, we also have the Troll Mountains. Lands of Intrigue notes a near millennium's-worth of warfare between humans and trolls there, so I'd imagine both humans and trolls have encountered the odd human-troll pairings during those long centuries of conflict. |

Considering the fact that trolls seem common in Rashemen (Ice trolls for example), I think some troll-blooded characters could come from there. I also imagine there could be a few hagspawns with troll-blood.

Hmm a search offered this type of thing.

It must be taken at 1st level and requires Toughness, so you have to be Human (or random Halfling) to take it. The drawback? You're automatcally fatigued in sunlight. :ohwell:
A player of mine is already whining to take it. The feat is obviously quite broken as-is, but I'm an inherently nice DM, so I don't want to unilaterally deny it.
Has to be a typo on the part of the original commentor -- 319 is the May, 2004 issue, and according to this page has an article on Greyhawk feats. |

Doge, if I may ask: what book did you find that feat in? I did a google search but the results are showing both Dragon #219 and #319.
I'd guess 319, since 219 came out in 1995, long before 3E gave us feats. Taking a quick glance at the Table of Contents for 219 (I have the Dragon Magazine Archive, and copied all the pdf files to a thumb drive that now resides in one of my work computers), I don't see anything to suggest anything like this feat was in there. |

Posted - 06 Jul 2012 : 10:55:46 I would suggest the Western Heartlands, near the Troll Hills, Trollclaw Ford, and Trollclaw Forest would be a likely location.
Also, the Evermoors in the North. (Home of the "Everlasting Ones".)
