Posted - 15 Dec 2003 : 02:33:39 Hullo all, I know I have asked for a drow translator before, but now that I have that, I have been becoming more interested in other languages. I have searched through the scrolls and found naught to my liking. Perhaps if you all could assist me, I'd be much thankful. |

Posted - 20 Dec 2003 : 05:38:50 Well I know 'I' put it there, Just what type of fool to you take me for?.... I am NOT looking for an answer to that! But I am mildy amused that there are people... other than my insane self, read other's Profiles... I'm used to just putting things there for my own amusement. Intresting tidbits and other post-it type things.... Things I think would be amusing to read... Like when I read others, so far Bookwyrm's is my favorite... so far.. I do wish Alaundo would come up with something inspiring though... |

Posted - 20 Dec 2003 : 04:58:25 I was referring to translators of different languages, like githyanki (which i bet would be hard to come by), elven, sylvan, dwarvish, goblin, etc
But thank you for those interesting fonts! |

I perused your profile. It is there for all to see you know. Although patron entity made me think a minute.
Like the old saying goes, "He who fights with monsters must beware lest he himself becomes a monster" It's converted to Drow ish so it comes out like this: Those who fight evil must be alert to not become that which they fight. (Yasraena if I got the translation wrong, then by all means correct me)
No you got it right. Although, like I said, the translator isn't perfect. Alert should be substituted with careful. They do mean the same thing in the context of the quote however. I have to admit though, that it is a personalized stolen quote from that old saying. I believe there's another scribe here (Edain Shadowstar I think his name is) that uses the real quote, which is by Frederick Nietchtze (sp?).

Of course on of better note is the ending: "As you gaze long into the Abyss, the Abyss also gazes into you" |

Coming from someone who follows Baalzebul and Nyarlathotep, I am not surprised at that.
Dracandos - Yes thanks for the link. I already had most of the fonts there, but the papers were a nice addition to my background collection. To answer your previous question, I have quite a number of fantasy fonts, not a small amount of which is FR based. I might be hosting them on my website soon if I can afford to up the monthly bandwidth. |

I remember that site Zacas. It was pretty cool, yeah. If you're interested in finding a good drow translator, I found one a while ago, but can't remember which site was hosting it. It was made by a guy named Piotr Banasik, his website is http://www.t-p-l.com. It's not perfect, but it's as close to it as I've found out there. I don't know if he still has it for download, but he did answer my emails and fixed a problem I had with it. It never hurts to ask though, right? |

Posted - 15 Dec 2003 : 03:24:22 Sounds interesting. I wouldn't mind getting a Dwarven translator since dwarves are my favorite race. I don't think I have ever seen Dwarven written. |
