For instance, a simple mud or clay golem in the first tier, with level-appropriate abilities, but then higher level requirements for creating things like iron golems or adamantite ones, or even things like helmed horrors. I remember from the most recent Elminster novel that a wizard in Cormyr has re-learned how to make helmed horrors. So it can be done, right?
