Posted - 24 Jul 2011 : 01:47:22 Okay, this is something I haven't found any information on, ANYWHERE. I take it that the Anauroch was typical of your average desert in that it was generally 70-100+ degrees Fahrenheit during the day and below freezing at night, or is/was the region unique in how its temperatures were during the day?
Also, does anyone know what type of weather the Anauroch would experience on a regular basis? Did it rarely rain? Did it ever snow?
I confess, I only ask this much just to sate my own curiosity. I'd ask Ed Greenwood IF I HAD TO, however, 1) I've got a hunch somebody would likely know a source I can't find (and hasn't been sited on a webpage shown on Google or in the FR wiki), and 2) I'd think Ed has plenty to do on his own and would not intend to make him feel more like he's my little toy to play around with. |

Thought there was a weather and temp chart in El's Ecologies box set but I can't find the booklet that I'm thinking of. It's in my stacks, somewhere....
Might you be thinking of the one contained in the Elminster's Ecologies -- Appendix I volume?
Maybe but I thought it was in the box set because there's a Anauroch booklet in that box set but the other booklet I was thinking of also has random encounter charts on it and it's from that same box set. |

When rare rain does fall, flooding results, and wild electrical storms (with many stray lightning bolts. Most storms bring not rain, but blown sand. A sandstorm begins as a grey haze on the horizon. It streaks the sky with fingerlike gray tendrils as it sweeps nearer. A hot wind blows before it, coating everything with gray dust." - From the Anauroch 2nd Edition book. |

And the 3e Anauroch adventure module -- in which, the info deals with the effects of the harsh desert climate.
