So could we have a spot in the Keep
where recordings of the Realms seminars
are kept so all may listen. I will never
get to go to Gencon again, and I am starting
to realise that stuff that never makes
supplements and novels get told in them.

Just an fyi to anyone who was interested in the seminars I mentioned: they've been included in the latest main site update. Check Alaundo's Library -> Bard's Rumors (all the way down the page).

Fair warning, the files are large, and they were recorded ad hoc for personal use (ie: don't fry me for the poor quality). I hope you enjoy them.

THO: Ed's permission through you is just fine for me, though Alaundo might want something more specific for his end. I just didn't want to make them public without running it by Ed first.

Alaundo: I've sent you an email. Hopefully between the two of us we can figure out how to get these things transferred.

Well met

That's great news, Hoondatha. I'd certainly be interested in listening to these and would be happy to host them herein at Candlekeep to share with others. Please email me at alaundo@candlekeep.com

Ed has no objection at all, Hoondatha, to your making those available (not sure how formal you're most comfortable with in the way of permission; if you'd prefer Ed send me a "his words" post, just say so, and I'll dragoon the man into doing it.

Marquant Volker, although I've never heard anything but praise for Ed as a DM at conventions, I have to raise a cautionary caveat: Ed is unavoidably DIFFERENT as a DM at cons or tournaments or charity events than he is when running the "home" Realms campaign because he can't indulge in subplots, or lean on his players to roleplay (ham act) and speak and do "war councils" in character the way he can with his longterm players. Ed's own Realms campaign is FAR superior to the play experience he can offer at conventions, for these reasons...
love,
THO

Every DM has his own style, and always i learn new tricks when i see other DMs in action. I wonder how Ed runs his game, in order to improve mine

They're all Quicktime movies in the 18-27 mb range. I also recorded a three hour Ed gaming session at the con, but again I'm not really sure I can share it (that one's closer to 100 mb).
