Or are the a lot like whay Wood Elves live in? I always thought of the Eladrin lived in stone cities and/or crystal cities. |

Posted - 22 Feb 2011 : 04:18:27 Aslo, I'd like to add that many of their homes ARE grown from trees that have been magically shaped, as well as some that are preserved and augmented with magic even after the tree itself is dead. There is a description in Elminster in Myth Drannor of the home of Symmrustar and her family that was very detailed. It even had crystal aquariums in various shapes on several of the levels, all in among the branches. |

Posted - 21 Feb 2011 : 00:23:16 The elves, work with elements of nature to shape their homes. It is not just trees turned into homes, they raise stone from out of the ground.
The Elven shape shifting is a partnership between nature and the Elves. |

Can you see the docks being landed on by some magical force that somehow penetrated the veil over Evermeet...only to have the docks begin to crush the ships sitting next to them and dumping the invaders into the waters! That would be sweet! |

Posted - 21 Feb 2011 : 00:09:02 I think it's just an expansion of the concept from the 2e Elves of Evermeet sourcebook:-
quote: Most of the city's structures are built using elven magic to literally grow buildings from the ground, transforming natural materials into seamless, incredibly strong constructs subdivided into rooms, hallways, and courtyards.
[...]
The docks here are unlike those in human cities. Piers and shore facilities are stone, wood, or organic material magically grown and sculpted from the sea floor. [src:- pg. 36]

Posted - 20 Feb 2011 : 23:07:52 I'm by no means an expert on Evermeet, so I could be off, but its basicly a super preserved forest, right? That the elves guarded from the development of the other races? Maybe something akin to what the night elves in warcraft have; buildings that are literally grown from the earth and the forest; magic used to shape trees and stone without killing them. |
