Posted - 12 Jul 2010 : 04:59:47 Okay, so, some rather recent discussions both here and with the Lady K at home, have made me realise that I may have now reached the point on my legendary "To-Do List," where I've begun to *forget* just as much as I've remembered in terms of what's on that list.
See, it's only been over the last six or so months that I've actually made any attempt to keep a hard-copy of the list [not surprisingly, actively maintaining a printed copy of my "To-Do List" has been on the list for about two-to-three years ]. And since I'm really starting to make some serious head-way on what I remember from the pre-six month period of my "To-Do List," I've discovered that I'll likely need some help from my fellow scribes... help with remembering just what I've "promised" to add or tackle on my list over the last few years.
I'm not asking for any determined effort to go through some of my old scrolls/replies. But, if during your daily readings of new and/or old scrolls, any of you happen to come across some replies from me about what I've got on my "To-Do List," or what I've added or will be adding, or what's been [even though it's rare] completed, I'd appreciate you posting that here. Even if I haven't mentioned my "To-Do List" specifically -- if it's just something I've said I'll tackle, carry out, perform. Whether it be for the general functioning of Candlekeep, Realmslore-related stuff, other D&D-related material, or just about anything else [you all know how I like to ramble]... I want to see it here!
I know it's a rather "big and specifically broad" request, but as I said above, I'm not expecting an 'army of scribes' to tear through old and new scrolls alike, looking for what I might have said I'd do for someone or Candlekeep in the past. Just keep it in mind when your reading scrolls here. That's all I ask. And if you find a reference to my "To-Do List," post it here.
I'll add some temporary adhesive to this scroll for the time being, to keep it active in all our minds. I'll be doing my part as well, to find what I can, but I'd really appreciate any help any and all can provide. Oh, and there's no set time-limit to this. Think of it, simply, as something of a community-wide project that could, potentially, lead to me actually completing more than just a *few* of the things I can remember from the list.
...
Thanking you all very much in advance... The Sage of Perth. |

Not that I can recall. Just other scattered references which I've slowly been compiling as an addition to the "Candlekeep Collection."
I'll cite Steven Schend's Blackstaff books, for example, which both include many references to Realmsian non-magical books. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you, Sage. I already expected it to be this way. Can you share those references you've already found? I intend to post here the names of the books I eventually find, if it's not a problem.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I can, and I will. I'm still waiting on Steven Schend to provide me with the final listing of books that were cut from his novels.
I apologise, Barastir, for overlooking this.
I'll bump it up to the top of my [now] secondary and temporary "To-Do" List. |

Would you like me to start with the first of your entries?
Yes, please and thank you.
I'll only ask that you avoid the entries that say "Note to Sage: still working on mining words from this book." |

Or is that bad form?
I've compiled about one hundred new words from Ed's Eye on the Realms articles and posted them as responses to the Glossary of Phrases, Sayings & Words of the Realms scroll.
Any chance you might look at one of the already posted responses per week and maybe fold its contents into the glossary proper, then leave a note in the post you drew from so we know it's been added?
I'd happily do the work for you, but I doubt there's a work around that would allow me access to the glossary (only) to make the additions.
That sounds like something I'd want to bump up on my list. Indeed, I will tackle this.

Posted - 17 May 2011 : 06:00:45 May I add something to the list? Sage, a few weeks ago, I had offered to assist you with your bardic lore project for the Keep, and you said you'd send some of the lore my way to work up. I'm still waiting for a PM or e-mail to get started, along with some sense of what you need accomplished on that "score". Since I know your musical project is a priority and undoubtedly huge, the sooner I see what I'm up against, the sooner I can dive in! (Especially with the lyrics- that part may take the most time.) |

If nothing else, we could team up and heckle Sage about his to-do list!
I'm just surprised he finished my Christmas present in record time. Assuming he told you about it, of course.
Yup, he told me. Glad he got it done in time! |

Actually, my compilation files are up-to-date -- as of September 2010. They just haven't been uploaded to the site.

Ah, yes. Forgot about that one. Thanks Jakk. |

Edit: Oh, and I should let you know, you're not alone... my to-do list is steadily growing as well, much of it Realms-related... although many of the tasks I've set for myself are individually of epic proportions to begin with. Off I go to see about accomplishing something... |

That would seem to be the tradition. But the Lady K has promised that she'll visit again sometime this weekend. And unlike the promises made by myself, she usually tends to keep them. |
