I just reinstalled my copy of the Forgotten Realms Interactive atlas. & I've been considering getting Campaign Cartographer 3.

Has anyone tried opening the maps from FRIA (CC2) with CC3 to get the nicer visuals?

Hmm. Also, has anyone figured out how to get the world map to work in windows xp?

Hi all,

Concerning a map style of the realms in CC3. It does exist and it's part of the annual that Profantasy is releasing each month.

A style was develop to emulate to look of the 3E version of the realms.

Past annuals can be purchased from Profantasy. You get 12 releases per year.

Salutations,

Pat

Didn't want to create another new thread, so I'll ask in this recent (and related) thread.

Does anyone have an FRIA map Key?

Or, if not possible, how about someone telling me what a circle within a circle represents? I know what the solid dot within a circle is, but not the one with a smaller (hollow 'dot') circle in the middle is.

Everything else I can figure out because I know what things are, but all three things I think that one might be are already represented by other symbols - its confusing the hell out of me. Some (but not all) of the Ancestor-Mounds are represented by it, and there are temples, abandoned settlements, etc... I just don't get it.

Go HERE, young scribe, and take in the wonder that is the Fantasy Cartographic community.

They have MANY map-making tutorials, including quite a few for Campaign Cartographer (and some of the programmers for that are members of the community!)

I know I've seen a couple of very nice CC2/3 FR maps around that site.

I'm running it in compatibility. I can open the individual maps, it only crashes when I try to run the globe (the full worldview)

I just found out that you can import them into CC3, but they don't autoconvert over to the new style, they look like CC2 maps still. Just a head's up.

Is anyone really good with CC3?

Does anyone have a CC3 Style for overland maps that matches the FRCS Mapping Style?

IIRC, there is a patch provided by the company that allows it to run in XP. You may also have to turn on 'emulation mode' (tell your computer it is a legacy program and try running it in Win '95 or '98 mode). I don't even recall how to do that, but I'm sure Wooly knows.

The world map apparently has issues in XP... You're not the first I've seen mention that. Me, I've installed it multiple times on XP, and never had an issue.
