Posted - 02 Jun 2010 : 06:45:42 Greetings fellow scribes!
I've been going through the old realmslore archives over on Wizards.com and have managed to download pretty much the whole lot, except for one bit of Perilous Gateways (as per the scroll title) that seems to be plagued by broken links. Does anyone have a downloaded copy they could send me, by any chance?
Also, I STRONGLY recommend that anyone who hasn't already done so get over to *link below* and take a look at and copy the archives before they inevitably disappear, there's some great stuff in there!

I have the un-altered archives copied to Word documents (all except the bits I'm missing, obviously) that I could send to people. |

Most of them, to be exact. And looking for them to be available again.
From what I can tell, WotC does not delete content from its site -- they just move it, and/or remove the links leading to it. A lot of the older content on there, I've relocated by finding similar content (usually thru Google) and then tweaking the URLs.
Well, and people can't find it, and aren't informed of it happening. I managed to find some too, but it is annoying. Giving people new URLs would be better...
Oh, I agree. It's very annoying, and I think it's unprofessional, as well. With the way they've arbitrarily moved stuff around over the years, and with thousands of links and files scattered around, I doubt that even the WotC IT staff can readily find content on their site. |

Also, the novel articles with the stats were already 'mis-linked' from a previous move, which is why I had the new links saved locally, but those are broken too. |

Cleric, expect a PM shortly [or in the next few hours] with details pertaining to where you can access these missing files.
Cleric, let us know if it is indeed a "few hours" that you get said PM.
Maybe in Sage time a "few hours" is actually a "few days", a "few weeks", or a "few months". |

I've got one about Menzo and one about Skullport or something.
As for broken links - that's nothing. The novels articles are plagued with those and no one does anything! I tried asking around, but no reply for weeks...

Such an offer would be much appreciated indeed. My google-fu is weak so I can't find those cached copies Wooly mentioned. |

If you'd like, I'll extend the same offer I made to Tyranthraxus, to you as well.
Just let me know. |
