Posted - 29 May 2010 : 00:59:39 Wow, sill.. talk about DERIVITIVE.
Thats a little too close to Drizzt...
Anyhow, I wouldn't have him adventure anywhere in the north, at least in his back-story, because you don't want him to be called a Drizzt-knockoff.
I like the idea of him heading south to find himself. You have all those surface-Drow communities in the Forest of Mir, and having him spend a little time in Dambrath seems reasonable. I would think he would head there looking for acceptance, only to find that the Crinti priestesses look down at ALL males, and certainly wouldn't take kindly to his Fairy-Elven heritage.
Perhaps after Dambrath (or in lieu of it) he could head over to Yuirwood in Aglarond, to try his half-Elven side out, only to once-again not be accepted, even amongst other Half-Elven cultures.
This guy has serious potential as the ultimate Emo - although I wouldn't make him so altruistic like Drizzt. He should have a dark side. In fact, he could be a 'hero', yet be Drizzt's opposite in other ways. Perhaps he likes inflicting pain a little too much - something he has to learn to get under control. It could be he is a hero for all the wrong reasons - he seeks glory as a road to acceptance.
If you really want angst, have it be where his mother was only around 18 - much too young (and small) for an Elf, and she died in child birth. Now you have a reason why her relatives would have been cold to the child, even while raising him. He would be a constant reminder of what was taken from them. |

Posted - 26 May 2010 : 08:06:24 How about an assassin that hounds him for his treachery or whatever he did to the church of Lolth? Or maybe Candlekeep. And Calimport. There was mention of drow tribes in the desert, but I am not sure if it is right. Help? |

Posted - 26 May 2010 : 07:59:56 Ok Guys, so ive done quite alot of writing for this guy, any other places that he would readily be allowed in keeping in mind he really looks more like a drow than a human. he has gone near or in places like Silverymoon, Mithral Hall, Ten-Towns, Shallows, the mountains outside of Mirabarr, past luskan and to waterdeep. he comes from the moon wood and associates with the temple of Eilistraee in there. where would be somewhere else that would be a good spot to take him to for adventure and to grow?? |

Posted - 21 May 2010 : 08:12:21 Im thinking half-drow so i can have the look and fear without the level adj, unfortunatly its only a low level campaign. plus i never really use anything like spell like abilities. i have pretty much finished his history now after a couple of days of doing it. maybe ill try post it on here for you guys to have a look at |

You ask me? Maybe Dambrath? There is a bunch of the half-drow, evil mostly. And some drow cities like Erelhei-Cinlu (did I type it right?). Why half-drow? Are you thinking about half-elf? |

Posted - 21 May 2010 : 05:01:30 well Markustay thats exactly what i was thinking. father was part of a drow raiding party. never really accepted and he is going to do something about it. and yes i think his ultimate goal will be to hunt down his fater. i know i liked this site for a reason :)

Posted - 21 May 2010 : 03:48:26 Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but a Moon Elf from the Moonwood sounds right to me.
The fact that you want him half-drow could be the very reason for his Outcast status - perhaps he was the product of a rape from a Drow raiding party from Menzoberranzan, or even Chaulssin (which would give you some interesting connections to shadow and dragons).
You got that whole 'dark and brooding, troubled loner' thing going on right from the get go, and it could be he's looking for his father, to kill him, or to seek acceptance - even he doesn't know quite which. |

well ive actually been thinking wood elf now, so maybe if someoen can give me an idea of where abouts they are that would be good.
He could be exiled from Teuveamanthaar, an elven/druid settlement in the High Forest (see 3.5 Champions of Valor) for some reason, or he's just a loner looking for adventure.
It's in the North and near the Spine of the World. |
