Im sure this is gonna sound like a real newb question but I gotta ask it anyways, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Anywho..
I was wondering if a charector who was wearing somthing like Studded Leather armor +3 AC -1 Armor Check, if they were to put on a Mithral Chainshirt underneath the bonus from the Chain Shirt stacks with the Studded Leather correct? Well thats that, thanks to anyone who answers it. :o) |

Well if you want to go by real life. Yes, you can put leathers over a suit of chain, just keep in mind its going to be more then a bit harder to move around and such. The game just dose not allow you to stack armor. Its like this to keep people with high dex and str from making their ac uber high. If you wanted to do that then you would have to follow the hard hard path of the wonderous warrior simply known as "The Tripple Didgit AC Man" I can give you a list of how to pull this off... and its more or less your skills, classes, and two rare to come by items. |

See, the problem lies with the simple weight and bulkiness of the armor. It's simply impossible to fit the leather over the chain shirt. It would be conceivably possible to make a set of armor that could be worn like that, but there would only be a nominal benefit for a whole whack of problems. |

Actually I was thinking more along the lines of the mithral shirt under the armor but w/e.. Man this suxxors. Oh well, thank you for your help |

Something I know. Nope, they don't stack. Realistically, the character shouldn't even be able to put the chain shirt on over the studded leather armor. For a list of the items a character can wear see DMG pg. 176(3.0) or DMG page 214(3.5). If you're using psionics, the Mind's Eye compilation has a list expanded for psionic equipment. |
