What happened to all the dead/wild magic areas in the Realms after the Spellplague? What effect had the Spellplague on them? Did they just vanish or did they become Plaguelands or something?

Aye, dead magic areas are no more. But wild magic can still be seen manifested in the plaguechanged lands, or during rare cerulean magic storms.

You could say that all of fearun is a dead magic area since the spellplague though. The new methods of casting do seem to be portrayed as slightly more slow than the snap and clack vancian magic. This implies that the gathering of magic energies is more viscous or slow than afore. So all of fearun but the spellplagued lands are near dead magic areas now but harbor enough latent life energy to allow the new type of spellcasting.

Another point to consider is the supposed connection of the feywild and the source of arcane power. The realignment of the planes allowing the plane of fearie to affix itself more fully to the natural world of Toril makes the drawing of power from it easier. Their might be some seepage of latent arcane energy in places where the feywild is especially close to Toril. These could potentially have wild magic area like effects, like the falling of petals when spellcasting is done, or spontaneous plantgrowth along the ground where you stand.

they were part of the weave, they would fall out of existence. if any were still to exist it would be in the pockets of the plague
