Okay, the lands north of Waterdeep were elven (the realms of Iliyanbruen and Rilithar) - with the exception of the city of Illusk - until about 64DR when settlement of the Twilit Lands (the are north of Waterdeep and south of Neverwinter) by the Northmen began in earnest.
In 87DR the Northmen found Eigersstor (present-day Neverwinter) then Grath's Hold (present-day Port Llast) is settled in 127DR and Uthtower is settled in 146DR. In 191DR Uthtower splits into Uthtower and Yarlith.

I have the dates for Eigersstor and Grath's Hold... where are the dates for Uthtower from? That aforementioned elusive article? |

The rest of the history of the North is well mapped out in LEoF and GHotR. I have a feeling I haven't answered your question properly, but I'd appreciate it if you made it clear what information you are after exactly.

Posted - 09 Mar 2010 : 07:40:34 Aye, that's the one - to be precise: DrM #73, p. 22-53 (history-relevant info will be found on p. 23 - 27).
Good luck in hunting it down,

There was also the adventure series of modules in the old printed DUNGEON Magazine -- [#69, 70, 71, 72 and 73] -- that contain some info as well. And, also, a DRAGON article on the Mere, from #258.
The last adventure in the series - Eye of Myrkul - has a sidebar with a very detailed historical summary of the Mere. It really covers everything from the very early ages of the Uth-Kingdom to the time after the time of troubles.
I could well imagine that's exactly what you are looking for.
Greetings, Ergdusch
That's the article in particular that I'm looking for too... issue #73, you say... I'll have to keep my eyes open for a used copy somewhere. Thanks! |

Posted - 08 Mar 2010 : 01:17:12 Well, as I was just saying on my Facebook page, I'm currently tinkering around with some possible Candlekeep 2 aspects at the moment. But, ultimately, Alaundo has the final say. So, when he's ready... Heh.
In the meantime, it might be worth running the forum scripting tables again, to update the post registries. |
