Posted - 29 Jan 2012 : 23:56:46 Thanks, Scribe Krashos. I figured it probably was since my searches have turned up only what I found here and the PDF from above. I wonder if they were further detailed by Scribe Lokner. Canon or homebrew, it matters little to me when it's this good. Know you more than what found, have I? Hmmm? |

Posted - 29 Jan 2012 : 20:10:44 I was able to find this wonderful PDF penned by Scribe Cyril Lokner on the history of Daggerdale. This is the only mention I can find of this group. Taken from context, the Aer Ascaltia would seem to be a contemporary of the early Eldreth Veluuthra or perhaps an arm of Shevarash's church. I'm wondering if this is strictly homebrew. |

I'm working away at it. I'd say I'm about 30% done with Tachepp, which means that I'm still a few months away from completing it.
Here's a bit of a teaser from the history of Tachepp.
As the drow began escalated attacks against Tachepp early in the Year of Forestsfrost (479 DR), the Aer Ascaltia saw their opportunity to strike two enemies with one blow. The human realm of Teshar inhabited the valley between the Twisted Tower and the southern edge of the Border Forest (as the Rystall Wood had become known to the men of Teshar). The Aer Ascaltia sent soldiers into the valley to harass the drow and keep the skirmishes among the fields and homes of the humans. The men of Teshar were convinced that the drow sought to bring their realm to its knees, making slaves of their women and children, and greatly appreciated the aid from their elven allies. Through the summer, the drow pressed north towards their true objective, forcing the Teshar and Tachepp soldiers back to the Tesh River. For a tenday the humans and elves fought side by side along the southern bank of the Tesh River. Finally the dark elves, believing they had the advantage, threw their entire force against the exhausted and outnumbered alliance. The Tachepp forces retreated across the Tesh River and joined up with reinforcements, leaving the Teshar soldiers to be slaughtered. The Tachepp forces brought their true strength to bear and counterattacked. They marched south, attacking the fleeing drow forces all the way back to the Twisted Tower, caring little for what destruction they wrought upon the remains of the human realm of Teshar. While many elves saw the betrayal as an unfortunate event in a war to keep their homeland secure from a great evil , others saw their leaders take an irrevocable step toward darkness. Six elven houses forsook Tachepp that year. Two houses, Snowgold and Winterwood, settled north of the Spiderhaunt Woods where they sought to reconcile their race’s betrayal against the realm of Teshar and drive the drow from that forest.
Anybody know who or what the Aer Ascaltia are? |

Posted - 06 Feb 2010 : 10:57:16 I've said it before and I'll say it again; this stuff is awesome! I really like the photos and general aesthetic of these PDFs, they seem to promote a haunting quality highly appropriate for books on fallen elven empires. |

Posted - 29 Dec 2009 : 03:10:59 these works are supposed to be cross editional....(is that a new word?) but much of what I do starts in 2nd Ed coz thats what e use homebrew with a pastiche of bits from other editions 1 thru 4..... |

Posted - 27 Dec 2009 : 14:52:04 I just noticed that your writeup switches editions in places. Did you have an edition in mind when you came to your final product? |

Posted - 26 Dec 2009 : 20:46:21 Snowblood,
I can't believe I've missed this write up on Myth Ondath you've done. If you don't mind, I'm going to use your expanded timeline for Myth Ondath and the Rystall Wood in my write up of Tachepp. I believe that by building off of what other's have done by fleshing things out more, we here at Candlekeep can do what might never get done by paid individuals. I'm going to have to go back and tweak some things on "A Detail of Hadreth's Glen" and "A Detail of the Shattered Stone Orcs" (see links in signature) to keep consistent with what you've done here. I would certainly appreciate any direction you might have on those two articles as well as my current work on Tachepp should you have the time.
Cheers |

Posted - 26 Aug 2009 : 19:37:37 Thanks, Snowblood! Looks very interesting... Any chance of a write-up on Myth Unnohyr (the treasure city of Keltormir, IIRC)?
Edit: Mind you, you did say... "More archaic Myth Adventures on the way..." |
