Hello fellow scribes!

I am deeply interested in the moonstars, too bad there isn't much lore about them (that I know of). I was wondering, what was Elminster's opinion on Khelben's action which led to his trial, and his general opinion on the newfound moonstars themselves? Have his relationship with Khelben and Laeral been affected by this decision (some might call it treachery)?

All my knowledge on the moonstars are from the FRCS and Waterdeep: city of splendors, do I miss any?

Thank you

okay I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for pointing that out.

If I recall correctly, Champions of Valor had a tiny bit of information on the Moonstars as well. Not enough to get the book just for that, but if you already have it.... ~shrugs~

BTW, this tears it: I'm buying Cloak and Dagger.

Check out nobleknight.com, as they've still got one or two copies left in stock. And they're reasonably priced too.

Thanks for the tip, Sage... of course, due to good timing on my part I came back to the 'Keep to read this AFTER ordering a 'new' one from amazon. Grr. Is it past the point when I should stop whining about how it would have been cool to be able to get a pdf of this from Paizo? For pennies? Right now, no shipping? It is? I'll shut up then.

Oh dear, I didn't know that part. Poor Bran must have been really ticked off.

It's one of my favorite supplements... It was one of the first I replaced after the fire, and it was also one of the first pdfs I bought from Paizo.

The book also details everything leading up to the Manshoon Wars... Both of these things were wonderful ideas that were kicked to the curb with the 3E Realms.

And there's a lot of information on other groups, too.

The book is still well-worth its cover price, I think. But you should easily be able to get it for much cheaper.

When Khelben was being put on trial by the Harpers, Storm arrived, very tweaked off. She calmed down after Elminster spoke to her. Elminster didn't seem happy with the other Master Harpers, and was avoiding them. Alustriel bailed on the Harpers, Elminster disappeared without saying anything thing, and Sylūne showed up to break Bran Skorlsun's (one of the tribunal of Master Harpers) Harper pin.

And we know that Alustriel and the Simbul support the Tel'Teukiira. So it's likely that Elminster will support the Moonstars, or at least not oppose them. He's prolly not overly happy with Khelben (according to Ed, what El said to calm down Storm was that this would blow up in Khelben's face), but I don't see it being as bad as a split between the two.

Yes, that'd be my first thought as well.

I see it this way: 1) It's not like they would normally be working together all THAT closely, even if this rift had never occurred- they each (especially Khelben) have their own agenda, and tend to play things close to the vest at the best of times, and 2)I suspect that El and Khelben would remain united by their Chosen status, and by hundreds of years of shared history, even if they took a dim view of how the other chose to go about doing the work of the Lady of Magic.
Besides which, it's not as though Elminster can fault Khelben's methods... the Sage of Shadowdale has been known to bend the rules, himself, from time to time.

It's easy to see why El's so popular: "No worries, Storm. Khelben's gonna put himself and the entire City of Waterdeep and much of the Realms in danger on account of a disagreement on methodology. This is gonna be great!"
