Are there any descriptions of all of the major bodies of water on the planet? (i.e. Easter Sea , Southern Ocean, The Great Sea)

Thanks in advance.

The Corsairs book for Zakhara holds some information on the southern ocean of the Great Sea, but not much. I would suspect that that is a bit to far away for you anyway.

the Sea of Fallen Stars for 2ed. would be your best choice.

Elminster's Ecologies may be the closest thing that you would find that may assist you with your questions. Nothing on your specific inquiry, but it may give ideas.

Basically, you'll find most of the region-specific sources will briefly detail the various bodies of water that are located in each of the areas covered in the books. For example, Volo's Guide to Waterdeep ad Volo's Guide to the Sword Coast have bits on the Sea of Swords etc. Empires of the Shining Sea has info on the southern regions of water, and the Lake of Steam. The Moonsea sourcebook covers the Moonsea.

Well, there is a 2e source called Sea of Fallen Stars, but I'm not sure about others.
