How were these impacted? The Aryfaern'Kerim, the bracers of Ynoleth (the coronal to an ancient elven realm), Guenhwyvar, etc. Where are they and do they yet exist? There are references to some items in the FRCG but only in passing. Does anyone know?

Thanks for the info Erik. I actually read that story and talked to you about the mood in the past. Since then I have been a strong fan of your writing and especially The Greater Treasure story. I look forward to your next book.

P.S.-It's nice to think of the elven artifacts still being around. The imagination put into them warrant a long shelf life IMHO.

I can speculate as to this one:

the bracers of Ynoleth (the coronal to an ancient elven realm)

Canonically, the noted adventurer and bladesinger Yldar Nathalan discovered the (singular) Bracer of Coronal Ynloeth in 1362 with (or perhaps *despite*) the aid of the professional thief, Fox-at-Twilight. (This story is told in my story "The Greater Treasure," in the Realms of the Elves anthology.)

Later that year, Yldar returned the Bracer to Evermeet, where it sat for many years in glorious repose as an ancient part of Elven history and culture (i.e., think "museum of the arcane"). Yldar departed Evermeet again for mainland Faerun and was known to have gone in search of the Shattering Swords, rumored to be hidden beneath the remains of Ascalhorn/Hellgate Keep.

Getting out of the realm of canon here:

Whether the Bracer passed from Evermeet after late 1362 is unknown. At any point between that time and 1385 (when the island vanished into the Feywild in the onslaught of the Spellplague [re: FRCG]), it could have been stolen and/or replaced by a replica easily enough.

Or it could be yet resting in the vaults of Evermeet, deep in the Feywild where humans cannot touch it (perhaps warded in a vault next to the Shattering Swords), awaiting an eladrin (or elf) champion to wield the great artifacts of the fey in glorious battle again.

In other words, your DM should see fit to use Bracer in whatever way he or she deems fit. There is no other canon regarding its whereabouts that I know. I also see no reason for it to have been destroyed or depowered (though it and the swords could have acquired some suitably wicked *other* powers, at your discretion).

Cheers

It would be a tragedy if the elven artifacts of the Forgotten Realms were to fall out of use/importance. May the art blade be my sword of vengeance against the Netherese! Oh, sorry for the tangent. Thanks for the info screrar

FRCG indicates on page p 50 to the effect of; most permanent magic items such as armor, weapons, and cloaks created pre-spellplague continued to work the same. However, some items with stored charges, such as wands and staffs don't work or may function differently post-spellplague.

I seem to remember that Guen is still with Drizzt from the Prologue of The Orc King.
