As my version of said book has not yet arrived, can anyone who got it fill me in with the info that is in there. From the excerpt on RPGnow it looks that there are a few pages on both topics.

Cheers!

I like the Drow. Used in moderation I think the FRCG material would make it interesting to play a Drow. Although you always have the Drizzt comparisons, it would be cool to maybe follow in Gromph's shoes but maybe more toned down and unaligned like.

On a side note, as a DM I always used Drow as a mercenary/combat instructor type for forward enemy elements or specialized monsters for my campaigns. My players have probably only fought 10-15 Drow at the most. That is all through 2nd edition to 3.5 D&D. Use in moderation. All is well. :)

Got it now and less horrible* than expected. The way I read it, there is no need to switch editions either, just for the sake of the "new setting".

As it looks though, the power level of the "average" drow one might meet in the Underdark and beyond has been readressed again and looks more like those of AD&D than the toned down warrior stuff of 3E. Furthermore, there are hardly any creatures in the MM 4E who do not work with the drow ...

*Referring to the drow part only.

Menzo receives 4 pages of info in the new FRCG starting with page 228. It is within the underdark section. Drow in general another 4 starting on page 248, which includes info on Jarlaxle.

You get your very own version that different than everyone else? Cool! ( Sarcasm Intended )

It's become the largest city in the Underdark, afaik.
