Posted - 12 Aug 2008 : 22:10:54 Does anyone have some of the missing FR Archives from WotC website. I am downloading them all onto a USB but the 2002 article - Chosen of Deneir, is no longer there (as well as some others that escape my memory). Anyone have any of these saved?? Thanks! |

Aye. That's why I want to make sure that part of the site isn't tagged for later development before I use it for my own purposes. |

What's your email like? Can you receive large files for download or should I just upload the relevant files to a temporary download site for you to access later?
My email has a pretty good capacity. You can try that pierre.labrie@ocdsb.ca |

Posted - 16 Aug 2008 : 17:48:09 I have found hotlinkfiles.com to be a pretty good site for free file hosting. That is where I upload my character sheets. It has a file size limit of 50 MB though.
EDIT: The 50 MB limit is only per file, you can get up to 1 GB of storage space and 4 GB of bandwidth for free. |

Posted - 16 Aug 2008 : 07:14:00 Aye.
I'll post the address here when it's ready. RapidShare apparently doesn't like the files I'm trying to upload at the moment, so my own site is really the only alternative now. |

Yes, but this time I added the word "very."
Ah, I see. That means with eighteen weeks, instead of eighteen months. |

Okay, this seems to be generating some interest. So a temporary download site probably won't be enough, since the files can only stay uploaded for a brief time. I'll look into storing them for download on my "very-soon-to-be-created-blog[winks at Wooly]-and-website" and post the address here.
The blog that's been soon-to-be-created for the last eighteen months or so? |

Posted - 15 Aug 2008 : 20:52:49 I would be quite happy to have access to downloadable versions of everything as well (I know that everything after a certain date is downloadable, but if you could just stick everything into a single zip [or similar compression] file and put it on a free files hosting site that would be awesome! |

Maybe. I've got a USB drive with me at work today which stores a couple thousand Realms-based files. What're you looking for exactly?
Would you believe, everything
What I currently have on my USB are the 2000, 2001, 2002, 2006 and 2007 archived items from WotC (except for the ones with broken links which I can't remember exactly) and I of course have all the Candlekeep Compendiums on there as well |

Posted - 13 Aug 2008 : 03:15:10 You guys got any of those files handy? |
The Sage |
Posted - 13 Aug 2008 : 01:34:43 And compiling the info into .doc or .pdf files makes searching for particular references somewhat easier -- especially when you know which series of Realms articles to look through.

Yeah, ditto that. I've got just about everything of interest saved as a Word doc or a pdf file, and sometimes both. I got into that habit years back, just as a way to keep the info handy. It was an especially good practice when I had a simple modem as my internet connection. |

Posted - 13 Aug 2008 : 01:26:23 They revamped their site a few years back, and hosed a lot of the existing links. In a lot of cases, if you change the first part of the link, you can find the info. |

Posted - 13 Aug 2008 : 00:49:57 Ahh, thank you Wooly. Yeah the link on the wizards archives site juist links directly to the novel section. I will use a search engine to look for the missing files. Thanks! |

Posted - 12 Aug 2008 : 23:06:44 Actually, it is still there. I believe that the web guys at WotC never really take files down from their site -- they just don't update the links to them. I know of some rtf files -- including the Roll of Years -- that have been on the site since 2000, but which are no longer linked to. If you know the URL, or if your Google fu is up to the task, you can still find them.
In this case, here's the link you want: http://ww2.wizards.com/Books/Wizards/?doc=fr_deneir |
