I think Elaith is one of the best villains in the Realms...

He is very realistic...not monolithically evil....very intriguing. While I am quite positive he could not stand toe to toe with the likes of say Artemis Entreri or Manshoon, but I think that Craunlober's schemes and contacts would make even the haughtiest heroes and villains take notice.

An elven Nationalist......what could be more intriguing?

What do you folks think about Elaith the Serpent?

brothers...stubborn sometimes aren't they? (lol!) I speak like that about mine only because he moved out about a week and a half ago...and because I can finally!!!! Nah. my brother was okay. he was a pretty good sport. (sarcastic as heck but I think it runs in my family....) so...yeah. lol.
Bookwyrm Posted - 22 Feb 2003 : 05:13:21
You're welcome, Sadon. Now if only my brother would accept the changes I make to his stories -- come on, look at them! [*&^% stubborn brothers]
Sadonayerah Odrydin Posted - 22 Feb 2003 : 04:59:13
oh my gosh...how could I forget that! I believe the novel was Elfsong. When Wyn plays a melody for him and he does that really cool dance...yeah...I think that's Elfsong all right. I just can't believe I forgot that part.

Bookwyrm: Yeah I can attest to that...but I'm not gonna complain about it! It was because you edited my english term paper and helped me make it better that I got an A-. (Thanks again by the way. my english teacher decided to throw out our final papers otherwise I'd tell you what I got on it.... I asked him for it back and he said he threw everyone's away.... -_-'

Wael, wael, wael...Waela sargtlin...

I'm sorry...I didn't know that...
Drow aren't good in Common...I learn all the time...

Lu'oh gumash usstan tlu ji waela?

Um . . . I don't want to nitpick (yeah right, of course I do!) but I have to point out something that I've noticed about your posts, Ranaghar. Drow are like sheep. Now, I don't mean that in a negative way -- after all, drow are the hunters, not the prey. I just wanted to point out that the word "drow" is its own plural. Just like "sheep." One sheep, two sheep; one drow, two drow.

Sorry, I'm just nitpicky like that . . . Sadon, Elph, and Dragon of Justice can all attest to that!
Ranaghar Tsaran Posted - 21 Feb 2003 : 19:04:23
Indeed, it was brilliant description.
I now he's a perfect fighter, even though I would like to face him. I'm a fighter too...very good fighter. Drows pass as the best worriors...
Arion Elenim Posted - 21 Feb 2003 : 18:54:30
In one of the Songs and Swords novels there a simply BRILLIANT discription of a dance that Craulnober does with something like twenty long blades, laying them all in a circle and kicking them all into the air simlutaneously...it was breathtaking....

So I think you would be sorely pressed in a battle with the Serpent, Tsaran......
Ranaghar Tsaran Posted - 21 Feb 2003 : 18:32:37
He's really, really, really good...I like him very much
I'm curious if he would beat me...
Ranaghar takes out his longswords
Very curious...heheheh..

Jeez...I'm two for two today... I've revived two older topics...

But I couldn't resist! Elaith is one of the coolest characters I've ever read about. And I agree. He's not downright evil. He is indeed quite intelligent and...heh heh...he's an elf. I read the story about him in Realms of Infamy and absolutely loved it! I found that the story was kind of sad...yet it was also a very good informer. I had no idea about Elaith's past or anything. I read Elfsong and I didn't really understand what Danilo was saying about him or *why* the moonblade rejected Elaith. That's actually the main reason I like Elaith is because of Realms of Infamy. Just the whole little story kind of helped me understand him a little better.

That's a girl's business, Rad. Lets just say he's fun to play with...j/k One of my Characters has happens to like him in a game I'm playing. So it's kinda of a joke that I reply to this topic.
Lord Rad Posted - 29 Sep 2002 : 21:36:18
hehehhe awwwww, come on Rory_Lana, there must be some reason you like Elaith?!
Rory_Lana Posted - 29 Sep 2002 : 21:32:14
I have to say, you have mentioned one of my favorite characters. Why he is my favorite well...he's just a great character. I thought I would add that...I have nothing else to say.
Lord Rad Posted - 28 Sep 2002 : 11:09:30
hehehe quite intriguing about the initials, ArionElenim

Which novels feature Elaith? Just Elfshadow and Elfsong? But youre right, he wasnt, IMO, downright evil. I think ill brush up on him a bit more before I comment anymore here. His stats are in the Villains Lorebook, right?
Arion Elenim Posted - 28 Sep 2002 : 05:54:49
Oh....

By the way....anyone else notice that Elaith Craulnober has the exact same initials as well as number of letters as his creator, Elaine Cunningham?

...damn....I can't believe I knew that.....
