Hopefully more to come...

Posted - 07 May 2006 : 16:52:55 On the "search" topic, while I know we may have gotten to the point to where we just have a bazillion posts to search through and that has speared our ability to do it, I think the search function is an important thing to have working, if only because I think we have had several topics come up, over and over again, that may have just turned into a conituation of older topics if the search was done, or perhaps would not have been posted if the established thoughts of some of the regulars were already displayed from earlier threads.
Just a thought, and I know that this is a problem that is being worked on. |

Posted - 27 Apr 2006 : 13:18:02 It hasn't occured for the last couple of hours.
Has anyone else encountered the error again?

Indeed, there was a period of downtime yesterday for around 30 mins or so, as I observed. Apologies for the inconvenience. |

Strange events happened today when I was roaming this forum, when I clicked on the Chamber of Sages Icon, the whole page changed into a blank page with two big words "Server Unavailable" and it happened again when I tried the Realm Events Icon. I swear it is true and I am not lying about this. Also, when I tried to refresh the webpage, the message appeared: Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0113'
Script timed out
/forum/default.asp
The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools.
Strange, did anyone got this?
I was getting that error, too. I first got it at around 12:50 PM Eastern, and then kept getting it every few minutes for a half-hour or so. |

Posted - 27 Apr 2006 : 02:47:32 Curious. Running a quick asp script check doesn't show any Forum DB violations.
I'll run it again...

Yes, I've received the same message a number of times actually, since yesterday afternoon (my time) in fact. And early this morning (around 1:00 am), again my time, the entire forum was unavailable for just over half-an-hour.
I'm assuming our nasty little server bug is making its presence known again here at Candlekeep.

I got this as well. |

Posted - 27 Apr 2006 : 02:36:33 Shadovar, I also encountered those words "Server Unavailable" and worse, when I exited the forum and tried re-entering the forum webpage again, the message was simply "The page cannot be found". |

Well met
Indeed, uncannily myself and the Sage have been in discussions only recently. I can only apologise for the inconvenience for now. Try refining searches if ye can. The database is getting quite large these days, mayhaps some archiving is in order. |

Posted - 19 Apr 2006 : 04:33:32 This has been a problem for quite some time; I'd suggest using Google to search the forums by appending site:candlekeep.com/forum/ to the end of a Google search. |
