Posted - 03 Oct 2005 : 12:21:26 Not sure if squizz is a word people recognise (might be a South African thing) but it means take a look. Hopefully it piqued your interest and you're now reading this thread.
Many people regard the inn as just another part of the site and don't often read it, which is of course their perogative, but this thread is just to let everyone know it's a huge part of the site. It does a lot of good, letting people hone their roleplaying skills and interact with others. It was also the reason I joined the site originally and thus has a special place in my heart.
The reason I'm posting this thread though, is just to let everyone know how far it's come. I want to take my hat off in thanks to Alaundo, and all the mods who have helped the Inn register over 360 (yeah, that's right, three hundred and sixty) pages worth of roleplaying.
I applaud you all, and look forward to many many more pages worth of quality content |

Maybe more than I think .
I know our classical quartet's CD sold really well in the UK just after the tour. We sold all of the original printings of the disc.

Sage, must be a Southern Hemisphere thing then hehe.
Perhaps.
But then I know some of my friends in the UK are always asking me to take a "squizz" at their latest ideas for their campaigns.

Thank ye for bringing this to our attention, MuadDib. Indeed, the Inn is often overlooked, but some very creative and interesting posts are contained within. Oh and 'tis my hat which should come off to thee, MuadDib, for thy tireless work and long-standing at the Inn. Also, I thank the Inn's moderators past and present, who have had quite a job to keep order within at times
Alas, i'll also take this opportunity to give deep thanks Kiarin D'Aleshan for all the time and effort she has put into running around looking after the clientele of the Inn, for pressures of life have resulted in her recent departure Mayhaps one day, she will don that little frilly apron once again and grace the inn with her joyous smile Oof! Aye, she aint the sweet maid ye all may believe! |

I've heard the term, but it referred to something much more, um, manly.
You guys have words for everything... 360 pages, this is indeed a HUGE number! It would be interesting to take a look, I must recognize I've never even entered there... |

Interesting, I've never heard the term "squizz". I don't think it's used here in the States.
I've never heard that term, either...
360 pages is an impressive number.
Never heard it either. Must be a overseas thing. :) |

Posted - 03 Oct 2005 : 13:56:18 Squizz is a word, or at least, it's a word here in Australia. It's derived from an old English phrasing as I recall -- it means "to take a quick look".
But to the topic subject... Wow! Three-hundred and sixty pages... That's cool .
Thanks for the update MuadDib . The last time I stopped past the inn was when the characters of both myself and Edain were sizing each other up before a huge spell battle (which never actually happened). This was just after Edain had joined Candlekeep -- that was about two-and-half years ago.
Since then, I picked up the odd thread here and there, but never really made a conscious effort to contribute any further. I may have to re-consider that now .
