Well met

We now have a new feature available here on the Candlekeep forum - Subscriptions.

This will allow each member to be notified by email of any new topics or replies on the forum. You may subscribe to a category (such as Realmslore), or to a sub-forum (such as Realms Events), or to individual topics.

You can subscribe when viewing the topic by clicking on the link at the top of the topic header, or by checking the "click here to subscribe" box on a topic reply.

To view or remove your subscriptions, select the "My Subscriptions" link from the forum menu on the top right.

We hope this function is of use to you

It's not such a big problem since I connect every day.
checking the 'Active topic' tool is enough to be able to know what happens within the keep.
The subscription tool is... could... could have been very useful only when I'm on the move for several days (as in july ! ) !
No probs anymore.

EDIT 21:35
I find something else strange about the "new posting" mails from CK.
Since yesterday (I believe it started yesterday), there is a txt joined file with the mails.
This txt file contains the same text as the mail does.

Do you know why I receive this new type of files/messages?

Thanks a lot and read you tomorrow

Well met

Some email systems do this for some reason. I know that one of my webmail systems seems to drop a ".dat" file of an email content with the mail, whereas when I download the mail using my usual client software, the file isn't included.

Indeed Alaundo, I subscribed some prefered threads yesterday night.

As a summary :
I had some thirty subscriptions in early of July.
When I connected back to may mailbox in the early of august, I was surprised because I had none message from "admin@candlekeep.com". It was incredible that no thread had been replied for a month.
When I connected back to CK, my subscription list was empty.

Well met

Well i'm baffled by this, Fillow. The subscription list for all member of Candlekeep is absolutely huge, so i've no idea why your's were all missing. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Well met

Hmmm, i've not had any problems with subscriptions. Was your subscription list empty, Fillow? I can see that you have a fair number set up currently, but these may be what you have recently added.

Could your ISPAnti-spam software be blocking mail?
The Sage Posted - 16 Aug 2008 : 00:41:59
Hmmm... It could be an previously unobserved consequence of the near-frequent ASP error gremlins that plagued the site during your brief absence.
Fillow Posted - 15 Aug 2008 : 19:54:58
Of course I did !
I had subscribed something round 30 threads.
And I'm sure I did not unsubscribed them.

DO you have an idea of the reason of this self-unsubscription ?
The Sage Posted - 13 Aug 2008 : 01:31:38
Did you actually subscribe to the specific scrolls you wished to receive alerts for Fillow?
Fillow Posted - 12 Aug 2008 : 19:56:26
What is that ?

I did not come into the keep for five weeks (due to the promise to my wife not to connect to the web while we were on holidays!) and what do I see in my mailbox when I come back home : no mail from CK saying to me that there were answers to my subscribed threads.
Strange !

I connect to the keep today and try to have a look to my subscriptions... No more !!!!!

Why so many hate ?

Dear sages,

I've just seen that there are soem threads we could not suscribe, such as the Book club ones.
The link "suscribe to this topic" does not appear.
Why please ?

Thanks

Centuries? You're showing your age, Big Al!

Finally!! I remember one of my first questions when I arrived here was if this feature was avaliable. Hail to the Head Moderator for including this!!!!
Wooly Rupert Posted - 26 Aug 2004 : 15:54:36
Yeah, how'd I get brought into this? Do I need to inflict a swarm of Miniature Giant Space Hamsters on someone?
Bookwyrm Posted - 26 Aug 2004 : 09:42:21
[::looks at fuzzy rodent::] Wait, what are you doing with Rupert?

A very nice new feature. Thanks Alaundo!
The Sage Posted - 25 Aug 2004 : 17:07:14
Thank you 'O Master Sage .

This will be of particular use to me, especially when I have to head over east and consequently can't keep up on the latest updates to the scrolls I'm interested at that present time.
