Webmaster, I have seen a couple of posts where a long url was replaced by a word representing the url and which would function as the hyperlink... How to type that in the message text?

Any helpfull tips for the scribes on how to perform this little trick of scribe-magic? |

Rather than typing in the URL into your post (which will automatically convert to a hyperlink), simply highlight the text you wish to have as a hyperlink and hit the "Insert Hyperlink" button on the toolbar on the post entry panel (its the icon with the chain underneath a globe). This will place [URL] tags around the text, next you add an EQUALS symbol after the first URL followed by the actual hyperlink in quotes, e.g. URL="http://www.candlekeep.com". you will not see the actual URL, only your word highlighted.
You can see an example of this on the forum FAQ on the forum menu. Hope this makes sense. |
