I have a problem with the server of Candlekeep at all computers I use (at work, at univercity, at home and with my laptop) while visiting this site. It takes forever to connect after/whole posting a message, so it seems. The info I get afterwards is the following:

'Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0113'

Script timed out

/post_info.asp

The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. You can change this limit by specifying a new value for the property Server.ScriptTimeout or by changing the value in the IIS administration tools.'

The message is usually posted after all but sometimes not counted. That fact does not really bother me but it gets annoying after a while and makes posting somewhat bothersome.

Any ideas how can I might be able to solve this problem?

Heh, I used Firefox, and at times when posting I felt like playing a point and click game on speed

I'm just grateful I can post here at all. I was unable to for almost a whole week.

Its really tickety-boo at the moment. Smoking along in fact - I've never seen it run so fast and so smooth.

Obviously the upgraded Dire Hamsters were worth using?

Mind you it is 1pm UK time, so that's middle of the night US time.

Also just a clarification - I could get to the forum mainsite, but when I clicked on a forum to access it, it would time out; hang; or do nothing.

Hope this means that the prob has been fixed.

Yeah, looks like the servers need more hamsters. I can very rarely get anything other than the front screen to load.

I noticed that same occurence with SageBrowser. The Forums loaded almost normally with it, but then just stopped when I attempted to open the "Active Topics" page.

I think we've all been seeing way too much of that one... Assuming that a page loads at all.

Which link do you speak about? The link in my post above to Candlekeep.com - Home or the 'Donate via PayPal' link???

Both seem to function properly when I use them....

Indeed, a big thanks to Alaundo for his devotion, efforts and willingness to keep this place running!

However Fillow, if you so wish you can support Candlekeep financially as well. There is a donation facility at the very bottom of Candlekeep - Home to support Candlekeep with a few zonths or lions yourself...

Aye, Fillow, I pay the hosting fees on a shared server on an annual basis to a web host company.

Alaundo's the BIG BOSS. I'm just the guy who tries to keep the gremlins in their cages.

Oh, and I get to administer the whippings when things get out of hand. And that's the ONLY reason. Don't let the Lady Hooded One tell you otherwise.

Try harder!

Indeed, there are issues with the server on which Candlekeep is hosted, which has been mentioned elsewhere on the forums.

It appears to be behaving over the past day or so, since I had a few strong words. Fingers crossed.
Fillow Posted - 29 May 2008 : 12:23:03
All right and thanks Middle-Boss !
I wont listen to her. I swear it. I will just read her !

Alwways about the server, does someone pay for using it ?
Has it already been thought about changing it ? To choose a paying one by example ? In order to be quiet !

That's just a question, not the beginning of a rebellion !!
