Grrrrr
Greetings my fellow scribes, Most of you will know that I have undertaken to write a book on Dwarves and will have seen my posts re Dwarves and Delzoun etc, well this is the reason why.

I had a perfect dwarf character in 2e But lost him !!!!! when I got rid of all my old 2e stuff I KNOW a hell of a mistake!

Well I have created his son as his replacement and here he is in a basic form.

Bjorn Delzounblood
2nd Lvl Dwarven Barbarian.
Stats:
Strength : 17
Intelligence : 5 (I never said he was bright!)
Wisdom : 9 (or wise)
Dexterity : 15
Constitution : 16
Charisma : 11

Desciption:
4’4” tall
Shaven Head
Black Beard Braided

Arms Armour:
Sculptured Breast Plate
Studded Leather Kilt
Spiked Gauntlets
Dwarven Battle Axe

The back story is a good one and I will post it at a later time for you all.

The plan is to run as a barbarian for a few more levels then to the disgust of some BECOME A BATTLERAGER MOST WILD
Then it depends on campaign but prob reaping mauler I'm not sure...

But I thought I would post me up, now I have blooded my axe and gained a level. If requested I will do a full spec sheet but I thought it would be a bit long.

Hi all,

Those of you who have read my back story may or may not apprieciate this.

I have been toying with the idea of penning Delzounblood's story in greater detail as a ebook distributed freely and posted on this scroll.

I have never written a story before so we'll see how it goes.

The title?

The Road to an Axe Idiot
A Biographical story
By Delzounblood

This as they say Is My Life.

Look out for future installments.

Delz

Cool character mate, gotta love the dwarves.
LucianBarasu Posted - 21 Dec 2006 : 18:49:01
I'll have to look him up. I hear he is super busy though. Tone of artwork request have been pourng in. Plus I hear he's heading up Fellaren krae too, so I may have to wait..lol.

I like Battleragers when people give them quirks of their own to make them unique. Actuall I do it with all my characters, but anyone in the Realms plays a Brager, first thing that pops into your head= Pwent.

My Battlerager Jhudshusui "The Dervish" Calim dwarf escaped slavery and glatiator pits and I decided to quirk him with two things, he'd never wear rings, bracelets or gauntlets, (it reminded him of slavery) , so in play he'd throw away those treasures (and the other PCs laughed, but their characters grumbled. who's gonna tell a battle rager to knock off the trashing of the loot) Also, I gave him a terrible lisp. And if anyone commented on it..he'd rage. the elven undead hunter (his partner) would introduce him, " That's Jhudshusui, Don't talk about his lisp, and don't make direct eye contact."

Your backstory lends spots to make Delz unique and stand out from all he Pwent clones. nicely done.

Thanks guy's.

LucianBarasu, Do you like the pic? some guy is doing custom pics here on the boards, Ask him to do yours if you want one!

Dwarvenranger

The description is basically myself apart from the height and I have a higher Int score, (I have a degree). The reason my char is stated the way he is, is because I really hate MAXED out chars. I prefer playing realistic chars.

You have a braided beard? Way cool I can't wait till I get out of the Navy. I do like the backstory too. I'm also playing a dwarf in Walkerninja's game who's going the battlerager route. But at heart I'm really a dwarven ranger

I shall expand on Delzounbloood's story as time permits

Hey. Great character setup. I like the backstory alot. I love playing battleragers and the way you can let loose, but still follow a certain moral path. They are great stress relievers.
By the way, I LOVE that picture of Dels in your signature. Great work, Who drew it?
Delzounblood Posted - 19 Dec 2006 : 13:15:15
Sorry I had to stop for a bacon sandwich and cup o' tea..

The story of Delzounblood continued......

The following days are a bit of a blur for poor Delz with people trying to find out who he is and why he was out in the wilds alone.

A couple of tendays passed with Delz recovering from his many wounds, It came about that one of the Clerics tending to him recognised Delz and new his mother. A search party was dispatched to look for the fallen cleric, they returned days later carrying her body.

Delz was told what had happened, he still had no memory of the entire trip. He was also told his true name, Delzoun Blood of Delzoun. His name had been passed down through the generations of his family, Delz then decided that from that day forth he would be known as Delzounblood.

Time passed slowly for Delz, with no imeadiate family he was looked after by the clerics, Though he had a deep burning desire to revenge his mothers and fathers death. He decided to seek out the Battlerager who had saved his life, If he was to go a killin' he needed to know how to fight.....

Thus it started for the youngling, his Blooding in the wilds and his un-armed attack on the orcs trying to kill him, started this promising youngling on a suicidal path, To become a Battlerager most Deadly.......

The rest as they say is a bloody mess........

Hi all,

Wow I meant to do this a while ago, But you all know I have had a lot on my mind recently with my son going into hospital and everything, but now he's home and everything is OK I need to do my backstory for Delz, so here we go..

First he has gained a couple of levels and his con has increased. Plus he has dropped his first name.

And we have a pic of him in mid-rage!

----

Delzounblood,

Born of Delzoun Son of Delzoun. In Citadel Adbar.

His father, Delzoun had always told Delz that he was of good stock. The eveningfast stories were always of the old days, when the Kingdom of Delzoun was the richest and most powerful dwarven nation. and of how it fell to the foul Orcs and Goblinkin.

When Delz was a beardless youngling his father went on an expedition with a handful of other dwarves of our kin, to try and reclaim a Delzoun Kingdom outpost near The Fork they had heard about in the Underdark.

He never returned...

Delz mother, a cleric of Moradin took delz south away from the memmory of Delzoun to protect the wee lad. They were headed for family that Delz did not remember or new off. She fell to Orcs on the road and The beardless youngling, Delz ran off into the wilds of the savage north.

After several days running from the Orcs chasing Delz, They caught up to him, and had him cornered in a cleft in the mountains.

What happened next Delz can never quiet remember, Blood, Pain, The matalic taste of copper in his mouth and darkness....

Delz awoke to find himself covered in blood, alot was his own. He had no idea where he was or who he was. Pieces of gore and what looked like Orc's ripped to shreds lay all over & about him.

All he could remember was this, He was Blood of Delzoun, His father had told him so.

Delz traveled blindly, never knowing which way to go, but knowing he was alone. One night, I know not how long, Delz heared a screaming roar, He followed the sound keeping in the shadows and low lying scrub. There hidden between a boulder and scrub vegetation he witnessed a sight that made the young dwarf squirm.

A dwarf wearing the most outrageous armour was throwing himself head first, with no weapon into a pack of screaming orcs. Delz thought this was the last suicidal attempt to overcome hugh odds, the dwarf was out numbered 10 - 1 at least. The battle (I use that term lightly for it was more a blood bath) was over quickly, the dwarf picked himself up off the bloody mass that was all that was left of the orcs and spat out a tooth " Damn Blasted Orc.... I lost me a tooth " he said.

Delz seeing this display was overjoyed and shocked, here he had found a dwarf so he was not alone But what manner of dwarf!

Delz approached the strange and fierce dwarf, The dwarf spun around and nearly killed Delz out of reaction.

"By the stones, never jump up on a battlerager boy, by Moradin I cuda killed ye" it snarled.

Delz collapsed..

The Battlerager after seeing if Delz was not dying, he was still covered in blood. Tried to make sence of the young ones rambling, This being extremely hard for the axe idiot, The Battlerager took the near unconsious dwarfling back to Citadel Adbar.

to be cont...

Hi all I've nearly done penning my back story but I have little time to transcribe it to the boards at the mo (my son is keeping me busy at nights, little lad will not go to sleep!) so hang on it will arrive....
Delzounblood Posted - 30 Sep 2006 : 22:16:48
Mace, Good call on that. But running full tilt into a steel plated door has to do some damage! I would have thought a standard intelligence modifier of at least -1 is in order? Your minus 2 is good though my char would end up in the market as a cabbage! a dog-eared one at that, But damn good fun to play!!!!!!
Mace Hammerhand Posted - 29 Sep 2006 : 16:31:38
I suggested that when he had the chance to raise his INT from 9 to 10 so that he at least didn't have to suffer the INT penalty.
Delzounblood Posted - 29 Sep 2006 : 14:50:04
I don't think my char could handle a -2 modifier, without becoming more of a gibbering fool!

But yeah good idea
Mace Hammerhand Posted - 29 Sep 2006 : 14:18:02
The dwarf in my campaign just started out on the axe idiot road... he is (still) somewhat smarter although I think I will give him a circumstancial modifier of -2 on some INT based skills, after all he had the basic head-through-the-wall training.

I look forward to the backstory, I'm sure it will be interesting . . . in the mean time . . . there is a reason that the dwarven word of battlerager translates to "axe idiot."

This reflects my personal pet hate!
I really hate characters who always have to be maxed out, I much prefer to play a realistic character. For example my char Low Int and Low Wis apt for an AXE IDIOT, 16 Con high enough but not too high for the rage feature, 17 Str must admit if your going to hit someone then HIT them but note note fiddled with to get an 18!

And yes Battlerager an axe idiot perfect you will see when I post my back story!

I don't think a dwarven barbarian, soon-to-be battlerager as a farewell would say "Ta-Ta-For-Now / TTFN"

Out of caharacter TTFN will do for me
In character there's not a lot you can say to a corpse!

I happen to have a degree and a high IQ score but do not wish to brag
