Posted - 20 May 2003 : 09:01:03 I only played Planescape: Torment. It's a good game, but i think that the Universe of Planescape holds a lot of possibilities. I'm glad they decided to make a 3e edition |

quote: If I am not wrong, there is no product that describes Planescape in 3rd Ed. The closest is the Book of Vile Darkness which describes the Baator and the Abyss, along with the princes and archdevils. Any products out there that specifically targets the stuff like the archons, the aasimons, the modrons etc? Seems like the lower planes generate more interest than the upper ones.
You might want to check http://www.planewalker.com/index.asp, for details concerning Planescape 3rd Edition. It might be interesting for you.

quote: The Outer Planes are arranged in a wheel, with the centre, the Outlands (Concordant Opposition). Here then is a list of the planes, clockwise order, starting from Mechanus. I will list the old names behind with alignment. If I am wrong, please correct me.
Mechanus (Nirvana) LN Arcadia LNG Mount Celestia (Seven Heavens)LG Bytopia (Twin Paradise)LGN Elysium NG The Beastlands CGN Arvandor (Olympus) CG Gladshelm CNG Limbo CN Pandemonium CNE Abyss CE Gehenna CEN The Gray Waste (Hades)NE Carceri (Tarterus) LEN Baator (The 9 Hells)LE Acheron LNE
That's pretty much all correct.
It's the Great Ring (of portals) that connect all the Outer Planes into the so-called Great Wheel, with the Outlands (Concordant Opposition), the Spire and Sigil all sitting in the center of it all.
This is reminding me that my next Planescape gaming session is tomorrow night.
Thanks Leona.

Posted - 20 May 2003 : 08:20:25 The Fugue Plain is the empty area outside the Crystal Spire of Kelemvor. In terms of the Manual of the Planes, Kelemvor's realm is in The Gray Waste or Hades (to those more familiar with earlier eds of MOTP). Kelemvor's church are not living in this domain, contrary to what Mirt says. Rather, the Crystal Spire's inhabitants are Kelemvor's faithful, the Faithless and the False. The False are not stacked in the wall either. That was the Faithless. The False are to undergo torture, supervised by Kel's faithful.
As for Dweomerheart, since some say it is in Nirvana, some say it is in Elysium, let me clarify
Before TOT, Mystra's alignment was LN. Her home plane was in Mechanus (Nirvana to earlier eds). After TOT where Midnight ascended, her alignment shifted to NG. This resulted in Dweomerheart in Elysium.
After all that, here is to answer the original question of the post (at least for the outer planes)
The Outer Planes are arranged in a wheel, with the centre, the Outlands (Concordant Opposition). Here then is a list of the planes, clockwise order, starting from Mechanus. I will list the old names behind with alignment. If I am wrong, please correct me.

Posted - 24 Mar 2003 : 13:10:21 I do believe that the Fuge plane was only FR. It was basically a plane that all souls went to that died in FR, and the gods would come and gather the souls that followed them. I do also believe that Kelemvore and his Church reside on this plane. Because any 'false' souls that did not believe in a god, were stacked into the wall around his domain.

Posted - 23 Mar 2003 : 21:55:43 I didn't find the fugue plane in Manual of the Plane. Is it a FR created plane? (that's what i believe) |

Posted - 23 Mar 2003 : 20:06:44 A dwoemer is a spell or enchantment. (It's one of the very few words in English starting with "dw," but you won't find it in a standard Modern English dictionary.) So it would mean Spellheart. (I like that one better.) |

About Dweomerheart. I don't know exactly what it means. I only know that it's place on a realm called Eronia, the Land of Rugged Peace on the plane Elysium that means as much as 'Plane of Untarnished Good'.
I believe that Mystra once dwelled on Nirvana, but not anymore. I don't know what's the story behind that exactly.
The elemental planes belong to the inner planes. I don't find any reference to the "fugue" plan.
The fugue plane is where souls go after they die before they are taken to their god's plane or taken to be tortured if they did not worship a god. |

Posted - 21 Mar 2003 : 17:08:22 Planes are new worlds, alternate realities and other dimensions. They can also be the homes of powerful entities. Each plane is effectively its own universe with its own natural laws. There are different type of planes: -Material: The most familiar (ex: Toril) -Transitive: This planes are used to getting from one to another. -Inner: Also called planes of power. They are made of a single energy or element that overwhelms all others. -Outer: Homes of being of great power, also called the godly planes. They tend to have alignement. They are also the final restings place of spirits from the material plane. -Demiplanes: They are extra dimensionnal spaces, that works like planes but have limited access and size. (Like Ravenloft which is the Demiplane of Terror)
If you need more info, i can. But it's a little bit long to write so i stop for now |
