Posted - 23 Dec 2005 : 21:34:02 Small mistake, Fliiria is CG, not NG. ;)
Servil: I didn't think it was overly weird for Fliiria to pick the way as she's read a lot about Faerun and has a relevant knowledges ;)
I can't really suggest where to go after this as we haven't yet finished this, maybe it'll take a long time or we might find a new lead while finishing hunting the elementals.
I really liked the game, especially how Arivia had us meet up all together in a pretty realistic manner. I really liked the RP, I'm a RPer at heart and much prefer it to combat. I don't know what happened but towards the end of the game I felt it got really slow. Maybe I was too tired.
My five magic items: Boots of Striding and Springing Headband of Intellect Kiira Wand of Magic Missiles Ring of Protection Any elven flavored magic item Staff of the Magi... |

Done.

Talon missed this session due to bronchitis, and Thessail due to being on vacation.

Essentially, I'd been extremely busy the week before, and hadn't actually managed to detail in entirety where you were going-so I called a break for an hour and put that together.
quote: The only other thing is if anyone can explain the initiative to me. if I remember right, shouldn't the order have gone Fliiria, Nym, one elemental, Faelar, other elemental then me? That's the order I think it should have gone but it went Fliiria, Elementals, Nym, Faelar and then me and I'm not sure why. Was it a mistake or am I forgetting some really obvious rule?
I just rolled dice for the elementals' initiatives-I didn't include their modifiers directly into the roll. Adding that in placed them behind Fliiria but ahead of Nym.
quote: Also for the 5 minor wondrous items you asked us for, off the top of my head:
1) A skill boosting item, preferably to perform and/or diplomacy. A Cloak of Elvenkind style item, but for a skil which would be useful. 2) Boots of springing and striding. 3) Cloak of Charisma +2 4) Bag of tricks, tan (Best minor wondrous item EVER) 5) Any useful but not really powerful item. Things like a bag of holding, but even possibly ones with more minor uses like a sustaining spoon or a clear Ioun stone.
I just meant five minor items, period-ones with a cost of 7,500 gp or less. Your five minor wondrous items have been noted, though. |

Posted - 18 Dec 2005 : 15:03:58 I just typed out a really big post and when I went to post it there was an error and it got lost. Bah, I'll repost it some other time.
Edit: Right, I'm not sure what type of feedback you were looking for, so I'll just chatter aimlessly for the moment.
You don't have an alignment for me, which I'm guessing I forgot to include, so you can stick a good old CG in there for me. Sune would have nothing else.
I liked this session. I'm a fan of a fair mix of rollplaying (Fighting monsters, searching for traps, etc) and roleplaying (obvious enough) in sessions, and although the session leaned heavily towards roleplaying, I much prefer lots of roleplaying to lots of rollplaying (not that I don't enjoy a good dungeon crawl).
There were some times when some of us weren't really doing anything and were waiting for others to do stuff of screen, but with a group that's just forming that's a given that we won't be working together all the time when we've got different things to do and haven't even properly met.
Also none of us could find a workable map except for Fliiria who has only supposed to have landed on Faerun two days ago if I recall, so it was a bit weird to have her deciding where we should go. I found this large easily readable map though:

Assuming I can get some general knowledge about places around here by taking 10 on the applicable knowledge check, I think there's two options of where we can go after this is done. We can go back the way we came and look for gold in the fields of the dead, or we can carry on going around the Wood of Sharp Teeth clockwise and visit Durlags tower and the Ulcaster ruins and Belegost. I'd suggest everyone else has a look at the map and their FRCS so that when we've finished clearing up the elementals they can suggest alternative places to go.
Is it just going to be the four of us, or will Talon and Thessail be joining us at some point?

otherwise I love the start up of a new band of adventurer's out to make their mark on Toril.
You'd be correct-the favored soul is to the cleric as the sorcerer is to the wizard.
I'll post retellings of the first two sessions tomorrow, if all goes well. |
