I had this sweet idea concerning the deck of many things. As most of you know, half of its cards do good things, the other half pretty much suck if you happen to draw one of them.

Here's my idea. You know how you have to specify how many cards you're going to draw from it? Well, specify to draw all the cards. As you draw, make sure you count the number of good cards you get before you get a bad card. As soon as you get both a bad card and the card that lets you undo something you did, use that card to undo specifying the number of cards you'll draw. Now, specify to draw the number of good cards you drew before you drew a bad card. Because you went back in time to undo your original action, the cards should still be in the same order as they were when you drew them the first time. Now you'll draw just the good ones! How sweet is that?

Just be careful not to step on Blackstaff's Blackstaff. That could be hard, considering you're the Giant Space Hamster of Ill Omen!

Wouldn't that be tangle with, Great Wooly One?

In this usage, I use both "tango" and "tangle" interchangably.

You'll tango with Blackstaff and Laeral? Kinky. You go you dirty dancer you.

Many things would be more tempting to me than Laeral in a thin sheet. Why? Because I know who her hubby is! I may be the Giant Space Hamster of Ill Omen, but I think an angry Chosen of Mystra is not someone to tango with.

Wouldn't that be tangle with, Great Wooly One? Yah, but three of my players would still probably go with Laeral over the Deck of Many Things. Especially since they don't realize who her hubby is ... heh heh. But yeah, unless I were Elminster, or The Simbul, somebody like that, Kehlbin (sp?) would not be my first choice of somebody to pick on.

Well met. Tis a good point you make, Kentinel. I'll forget my idea then. I wasn't expecting to come upon a Deck of Many Things anyway, 'twas just an idea ...

It will not work, sometimes the bad things pervent drawing more cards. Also the undo card might come up before a bad card.
