Posted - 14 Apr 2005 : 15:40:00 You can try out these sites:
http://www.pbem-portal.com http://www.pbem.com/
For Forgotten Realms: Request to join online gaming forum threads http://www.masterao.com/forum I have my hand in one that is starting up by someone new to trying it.
Or in Candlekeep, some of the campaign logs are summaries of PBEM games. I have been trying to get a bit role in Brian Flood's The Sunset Vale Saga to try out his style of PBEM. It seems very smooth and is very story oriented. http://www.candlekeep.com/campaign/logs.htm
I have not yet played in a PBEM. There seem to be wide differences in style for role playing. I have played stategic ones like GalaxyNG http://galaxyng.sourceforge.net/.

pbem = Play By EMail
Where a DM and players put together a game that actions and results are resolved by use of email. This can include the use of emialed random dice results and sometimes other computer generated results not able to be tampered with by either DM or Players. |
