Hey guys. I post this thread because I ran onto a problem.

I am working on a short story that includes drow. So it's about group of the drow that are put on a quest to go to the surface to slay an elven princess and aquire an amulet.

My problem is that I cannot find an elven city in the north(where most of the Underdark exits are based, right?). There is Silverymoon and Evereska etc, but non of them have a royal family that rules.

I kinda finished it already, I just run a few checks, and I need a name of the town. As soon as I am positively sure it is ready, I will send it to the Candlekeep as a campaign log.

For those who want to know more, the story is an intro to the novel that I wrote couple of month ago, and I hope I will soon send it to Wizards of the Coast publish department.
There is another problem. I read those instructions and I am kinda worried. I am supposed to send 10 page trailer, and worst of all, I am supposed to send it via mail. The problem with it is that I do not live in USA. I live in Serbia(I doubt you haven't even heard of it).
And one more thing. IT TAKES 12-18 WEEKS TO REPLY? WHY...

Thank you for your time. Hope you tell me some elven monarchy soon. Bye........

I hope I'm not too late with this.

I was running an adventure in the High Forest and found it necessary to place a wood elven town (pop. 2100) in the southeastern tip of the high forest. Feel free to make stuff up like that.

Ok, tnx for your help, I will consider this "noble lady" whatever thingie, just cannot pick up a town. Silverymoon is not exactly a royal type of town, and dunno....Evereska is destroyed etc.

Evereska was not destroyed. Richard Baker's last FR novel provides the most recent information on the city's state. However, this Rand article is a good source of information for someone writing about the Realms.

You might consider Evereska, it was not quite distroied. There though will be damage. There of course will be some chaos there that might made raid easier as well.

You also , espcially if everything else is planed, establish a city in Elven terotory rather then using a canon city. Using an existing city might require adjustments for what is already known about it.

'Tis some sound advice. This makes it easier, and also allows you to stay more in with the canon.

Exactly, otherwise, elven royal family means Moonflower. And the Moonflowers, to our knowledge, don't have a current living Princess.

I'd change the target from elven princess to simply an elven noble lady to give yourself more options.

If you can't find an existing city name, just make one up. If you've already finished this story of yours, then you may as well give the place an original name.

As for the 12-18 weeks for them to reply... keep in mind that i) they probably receive lots and lots of submissions regularly, ii) it takes time for a mail delivery to be shipped overseas and back, iii) it takes time for them to read it, and iv) it takes time for them to make a decision on it.
