I am now advertizing a site that I would like some of you to check out. It is about another time of the Forgotten Realms and another dimension, on a continent named Haaven. This is a continent full of dangerous creatures called Abyssals. The only safe place within this continent is the minute city called Haaven. Your adventurers band together and join in a quest to rid the world of these Abyssals by training and becoming stronger. I created my own rules for roleplaying games. This site is still in the works, so insight would be appreciated. If you are interested, you can create a biography on Hero Log. Thank you for your time, and I hope you enjoy. I hope to soon begin a few campaigns for those who are interested in playing.

Hmm... this is quite an interesting setting you have devised.

As Wooly said - the lost continents of Faerūn are very numerous, so as long as it is alien enough from the standard Faerūn it is plausible - and it is certainly that. The pictures you have give it some nice flavour too.

The pics also give it an oriental feel, so I'd set it on one of the continents east or south of Kara-Tur. Perhaps the citizens of city of Netheril Wooly mentioned intermixed with the Kara-Turan-related natives to create a unique culture of eastern flavour and high magic?

Good luck.

Haaven, a mysterious continent upon the furthest reaches of Abeir-Toril's globes. Hey! That is why the demons can come out there! Because it is so hot and that is also how the fog that encompasses the continent forms. Thanks, Wool. *Jots down information on geography*

It doesn't even have to be mysterious. In Faerūn, they barely know about the rest of the continent -- Zakhara and Kara-Tur and all that. As for other continents, they know a little about Maztica, and that's it. They don't even know the rest of that continent.

So there's no need for the continent to be mysterious -- it's flat out unknown. I'd say that only a handful of sages know about other continents (if that many!). And, of course, people who've seen Toril from orbit would know the continents are there, but since Spelljammer is dead, that's not a concern.

One idea I had a while back:

Back in the time of Netheril, one of the big guys decided he wanted to go exploring. So he took his flying city and set out to go see the rest of the world. The city was over one of the other continents when Karsus cast his Ultimate Goof spell, and destroyed Netheril. So this particular city came down on this continent, and though the people may have legends of a far away homeland, they've no real knowledge of it now...

To tie this into your demons idea, perhaps somewhere along the way, one or more of the survivors summoned some demons who later slipped their grasp....

Why does it have to be another time and dimension? There are other continents on Toril that have never had any kind of detail...
