Ah, nice! I have to ask, would your character as a Dweomerkeeper be affiliated with an order? If so, which one?
- Children of the Starry Quill
- Order of the Blue Moon
- Order of the Shooting Star
- Knights of the Mystic Fire
Best regards,

Watch out, Savras is listening in, and he knows of your heresy in saying such things. Diviners are the most powerful in the game, in my opinion. ;)

Posted - 28 Aug 2020 : 17:32:05 I consider myself being a kind of sage, but since this is fantasy, I don't want to be a common, boring sage. So, I went for Specialist Mage, as my sage may have delved in spellcasting or may even be a sorcerer. |

Posted - 28 Aug 2020 : 16:22:51 Looking back at this thread, I'm sort of disappointed at myself that I didn't remember my groups "Avatar" campaign where we actually portrayed ourselves in the Forgotten Realms. That campaign spanned over 2 Editions.
So for the purposes of the poll: 1e: Specialist Fighter (paladin) 2e: Paladin 3e: Knight 5/ cleric 2/ prestige paladin 1 4e: Paladin 5e: Paladin, Oath of the Crown

Posted - 07 Mar 2020 : 16:17:31 I picked Assassin for the simple fact that I wanted to be simple for once. lol. An Epic Assassin at 21'st level is amazing if you play them right in a party. We play the game where an assassin can be CN, not any alignment of evil if you choose not to. I mean reall you choose what type of assassin you want to be. If you join a guild you need to take the jobs they offer only. Nasty business in the end. Parting from the guild is always a rough thing to do.
If you're an independent contractor and work alone and for your own needs and wants, then you'd be more than likely CN in disposition. Not to mention the local assassin's guild wanting to hunt you down and kill you by contract from the moment you establish yourself.
But if you're just a fighter/ assassin or rogue/ assassin, or mage assassin it doesn't matter what your ethics are if you're not in a guild.
Pheyloo Audark: CN Shadow-Walker Wild elf male of The Winterwood. CR 26; Rogue 5/ Assassin 10/ Quietknife 10. Spymaster in the Everlund guild of elven rogues known as The Laughing Midnight. Grandmaster Assassin of The Silver marches. For instance... This guy. lol.
If you pick the right assassin spells per day, and utilize your rogue skills constantly without blinking, then you'd possibly become a Quietknife. Once that has happened... you're nothing less than a whirlwind of thrown magical daggers and knives, with up-close melee skills and spells to harm, deceive and hamper your foes.
Imagine a Sorcerer 20/ Mage-Killer 10. CR 30 without templates or level adjustments for being a powerful race. That alone is an assassin of legendary status, without having the "assassin" PrC. |

Posted - 05 Mar 2020 : 16:44:01 Morning Master Rupert!
Sounds like you know him well! :) Always a good thing.
I saw the poll and thought I'd chime in. Though, I must say, I wish there could be more options than just the ones available. I noticed he had to put things into specialist fighter and specialist mage.
I personally would have preferred to put Diviner.
Speaking of other options: is there a way to add another option to polls that is listed as, "Other" where a text field is available for input? Then you could get the real options figured out! :)
Best regards,

Posted - 03 Aug 2018 : 01:09:51 Basically I use the Advanced base classes then fill in the gaps, illusionist is a specialist class in later versions, Specialist cleric would be one of the many clerical other classes favoured soul, etc...
Seems no one is a Cleric Druid Paladin or Monk anyway. |

Limited to 12. Paladin is specialist fighter as is Barbarian. Sorcerer is Mage or Specialist Mage.
So why are Druids, effectively nature priests, separate from Clerics, and assassins separate from thieves when both are aspects of the rogue class? This just seems like a mishmash of classes; "Sage" isn't a class outside of Final Fantasy. It's a role or job description that the expert (or an Int-based class with Knowledge skills as class skills) pretty much accomplishes.
There are 11 core classes in the game, which would have given you one left over (for alternate classes [warlock, samurai, ninja, healer, warmage, etc] or Pathfinder classes). |

Posted - 01 Aug 2018 : 13:56:47 I had to choose other, as I picture "myself" as being a former Thayan bounty hunter, both fighter and mage, turned artifact by the spellplague... primarily appearing as a floating/talking book, often seen with a pompous historian turned sai, named Lorey, floating beside him. I didn't see that in the buttons. |

Posted - 01 Aug 2018 : 11:15:21 Sage.
Professionally, I am consulted by people who require my expert knowledge and pay me for the consultation. That's pretty much exactly how sages work in the Realms.
In the real world, they call me an attorney-at-law. |

Posted - 31 Jul 2018 : 14:49:51 You need an Other category, since you didn't include paladin, sorcerer, barbarian, or any of a whole mess of other classes. And Zero level doesn't necessarily mean human. |
