I am trying to write an article on how to play a priest, so before I start writing I thought I could get a little inspiration here. Below you see to questions which I would like some answers to :
1. Religius Acts / Duties and Responsibilities
2. What do common people give a church as offerings / gifts

I am really sad to hear this; I hoped that it just was me who couldn’t find information about this in the many books I have.
I will cheek the books again (Faiths & Avatars and Prayers from the Faithful)

This is a particular area of the Realmslore that just hasn't received any specific attention, unforunately. Some of us have bugged Ed for years, and we've managed to receive a few small tidbits through his replies from time to time, which relate to one or two deities. Faiths & Avatars tends to provide a few details on religious duties/responsibilities for some of the more major clergies active in the Realms, as does Prayers from the Faithful. But, for the most part, they've just never been covered to any great length.

1. Well in depends of deity in many cases, but perhaps beyond that perhaps there would be general things like:
a) Weddings
b) Funerals
c) Healing for community
d) Naming day
e) Teaching (about their faith, but also some general knowledge like reading and writting.
f) Some might serve as a Justice, abritator of civil law, in more remote regions where the is weak law efforcement.
2. It also depends. It depends what craft or profession they have.
Farmers will give food
Merchants likely would give coin and/or goods.
Crafters would likely give items they crafted. |
