I´m about to enter in a FR gaming group and i had the idea of using a posible Mistic Theurge character. To use a posible IC excuse to include me in the party, i could use a Gold elf charcter. Soo, here are the questions: What Magic God aside of Corelleon can i use? Its inside the posible behaviour of a Gold Elf to worship a non-elf Magic God like Mystra? It´s posible and aceptable inside gold elf society? Is posible fopr a gold elf to be a Mistic Theurge?
Thanks in advance! |

Posted - 20 Jan 2007 : 17:40:09 Well, I am not Scererar, and I hope he will forgive me for intruding.
What Scererar is saying is that in the Realms of the Elves anthology there is the story of a gold elf with a background you might find interesting.
P.S. I think the background you have works well. |

ooh, ooh scererear raises his hands at the back of the class. what about it being based off of the gold elf bladesinger in the realms of elves anthology, who returned during the demonfey wars, only to find his family's ancestral home looted. good story and background info.
Maybe its my poor skill whit the english lenguage, but i dont undertand you post Scererear. |

Posted - 19 Jan 2007 : 14:24:20 In fact, this character is a posibility i am considering to play, using the fact that one of the other players is a half-gold elf of noble birth (shame on the poor noble house!). The mother of that PC is currently a widow, and while she and his son are the last of her noble house, they still have some power, and my player can enter in the party has a pretender for the women. The idea was about a young (something like 25-30 years old in human scale, i dont know how mech years is that in elf years) how listen the call of Magic and Mystra. They guy is the last of a very minor branch of one of the noble houses of Evermeet. In fact, i can use his worship of Mystra has one of his reasons to leave Evermeet for the continent.
Any idea to better up the backgorund of this PC? |

Posted - 19 Jan 2007 : 00:11:53 I agree with the above replies, and for the record elves who worship Mystra aren't all that uncommon, at least on the mainland of Faerun. I think a lot depends on information the topic-starter hasn't told us, like where the elf lives and what culture he/she grew up in. For example, if the elf lives in a place where gold elves are uncommon, what other gold elves would think of his choices might not concern him/her. Or it might, depending on the character. |

Posted - 18 Jan 2007 : 22:06:24 This is not a problem you are making it out to be, A patron deity is the one deity the charater most closely follows. Even clerics, the most devote of their patron deity give homage to other deities.
The best quick answer I offer is the character honors Mystra most and Corelleon as second most important. Mystra could be chosen as patron deity, IAE the Gold Elf will/should give honor and worship to most of the Sedraine just in lessor degrees. There clearly is precedent for non humans taking a "human" deity as their patron.
FR (and D&D charaters in general) know and belive that there are many deities, it is not believe in one and claim the others do not exist at all. |

Certainly its possible to be a Mystic Theurge.
It is even possible to worship Mystra (though I would see a Gold Elf leaning more towards Azuth). These would be unorthodox choices, however, and you might be treated as such by more orthodox Gold Elves. I don't think that you would be ostracized, but it would be kind of like going into a Country Western Bar dressed as the Biker Village Person.
Sehanine Moonbow and Angarradh would be alternate elven magic deities, and might even lean a bit towards Mystic Theurge. |
