Hi there!
I stumbled over a quite difficult question.
Mirrors are used to create gates to places on the same or on another plane.
Mirrors also provide entrance to the plane of mirrors.
So when entering a mirror with the intent of being transferred
to the plane of mirrors, a mirror-self is created.
I guess the "why" for this is that the original mirror-image
becomes independent from its original at the moment of entry.

Well, what happens if one steps between two mirrors in Faerun?
One of them actively leading to another plane,
in my case the plane of shadows, and the other just leading to the plane of mirrors?
Will there be two mirror-selfs, one with the shadow-template eventually? Or will there be only one mirror-self that just can find its original much sooner? Or will the person that uses a mirror that
is reflected by the other mirror unvoluntarily use all reflected mirrors and gets torn to pieces?

Are other outcomes imaginable, any other ideas out there?
Or is there even a existing rule that I missed?

Hmm, mirrors have their place in lore, however two morrors of magic facing each other would be very rare (espcially if an NPC or PC physically placed an oposing mirror).

Allowing both mirrors to be teleported placed (thus not risking a carrier of one subjected to effect of another) the order of resolotion , IMO , is that a save be made against both from spell effect. Should both saves fail a Will check (power of the mirrors vs. each other) determine which plane the PC or NPC gets drawn to.

It should go without saying in the PC or NPC makes one save and fails the other, the mirror of which failed save occured takes the character.

As for Will check that would be based on magical power and saving though that all magical items get. If one mirror is far more enhanced then another it has an advantage, but d20 certainly can change that result.

Edit: There is the other option of whih mirror is looked at first, infering that an act of the character looking at the mirror is a triger event.

There are rules for when an event is trigered. Walking in between two mirrors normally does not triger an event at all. Looking at a mirror trigers the event in most cases - one can not look at oposed mirrors at the same time.

In the event passing a trap mirror causes an event (an area effect) I go with my first reply, saves then will check. If looking into the mirror of course the save must be made when looking into the mirror as a triger event. Walking past a magical item often occurs sometimes to the benefit of the party involved.
