okay then ... i got this DM-pet cleric of Auril which is about to change her faith over for Akadi (due to alignment change from N to NG) ... and i need some good ideas about what i should use as atonement quest for her as a random filler quest in their campaign ... they are in Icewind dale ... so ... anyone got any good ideas? ... somewith with some Earth-genasis? ... or... |

IMO I think the arctic dwarf cleric of Akadi is apprioate if you look at the "original" description of the arctic dwarf frome the 2E Great Glacier...I could see some laidback sun-tanner on the glacier falling in love with the sky and wind...
I think the Auril cleric combo is much more odd..as the arctic dwarves (IMO again) were more of a NG race...

Concerning some ideas for the atonement (dispite the fact that I still do not favor the arctic dwarf- Akadi cleric- Combination):
As others suggested before - take something that is of minor (or major) importance to the church such as erecting a shrine on which to burn very expensive or rear incenses. The adventure could be tied i.e. around the building of the shrine or the gathering of the insences.
Other option would be - depending on your time frame in your campaign - to have the cleric travel to the Shaar to participate at the only official holy day of the Church at next midsummer. (Read F&P p. 90, last paragraph.)

Akadi... and than an arctic dwarf... I have my difficulties with this combination.
1. I do not understand why the cleric changed from Auril to Akadi. It is said she changed alignment from N to NG. However, according to the F&P both deities, Auril and Akadi, have exactly the same Cleric alignments: CN, LN, and NE. So if the cleric had to change the deity because of his alignment change, she could not have chosen Akadi for the same reason she had to change in the first place.
Am I getting this wrong here?
2. Other than that - According to the RoF arctic dwarves, if they worship any god at all, tent to follow the druidic tradition and than mostly venerate human deities, formost Talos and Ulutiu. |

if she is alone I'd give something ECL 5-7...enough to make it a challenge but not kill her...if she has help then the ECL another +1-3 depending on her companions
and I'd go eithir with a challenge harming Auril (a cold monster) to prove her worth but a creature of Grumbar (earth monster) would eb approiate too...but I'd lower the ECL by 1 or 2 for that...earth creatures are ususally naturally/logically resistant to air magic |

well ... she started living in/very close to a mining village ...
and yes ... she is a arctic dwarven cleric of auril ... and later (since it is a DM-pet) Akadi ...
hmmm ... and what could those dangerous things be ... at a ECL 4-5 |

I'm a little confused..she is an arctic dwarf...arctic dwarves aren't "cave living dwarves"
the character is a female arctic dwarf cleric, once of Auril and now of Akadi?
I if she does have the Travel domain I'd still do the shrine idea...it doesn't have to be a tended shrine,just a "hallowed" area for the worship of Akadi...somewhere dangerous for the cleric taht proves her devotion to her new patron |

i didn't say anything about djinns if you read closly ... i said that it wouldn't mix with 'caveliving dwarves' ... and travel domain ... by what i read of her she aren't into travel that can be stopped by a mere wall ... flying traveling is problerly the thing (if anything) |

Okay no undeads. the quest is to clear a mountain pass, some gians has made a wall of snone to fide somthing, ore are just bloking the road. (whey : Because Akadi has travel domain)
You play she's a arctic dwarf but a akadi priest ? And she cant rescue a Djinn, because she is Arctic but akadi Homeplane is Plane of Air, and there are many Djinn and other air creatures.

... Akadi ... undeads? ... there aren't any connection there ... if it was Lathander yeah ... but not Akadi which is a "uncaring" god ... ... and why would a god of elemental Air want a shrine in a cementary in the first place? |

hmm shirne ... i'll think that's the easiest one to fiddle ... i fiddled it as such that she found a stack of papers thats part of a "book of Air" ... written on Auran :p ... so there could easily be a plot hook hidden in that :) ... thats the good part about NPC-pets ... you know what they'll do |

You should check what Akadi values, and plan out some such thing being perverted... |

If I were DMing the campaign, I'd probably look for some task that would further the faith of Akadi. Even "uncaring" gods still want to be worshiped.
Perhaps there is a ruined or abandoned temple to Akadi that can be re-established. Or perhaps there is a group of villagers on a far-away mountaintop that need the "good news" preached to them and a shrine built in their village. Maybe a mission to aid or assist a group of griffons or pegasus that are threatened by the hunting of some cave-dwelling infidels (like dwarves).
Or, maybe a treasure of Akadi's church has been stolen and taken underground and it needs to be rescued and taken back to it's rightful location.
Just a few ideas. |

Sian is right, but the emphasis is needed that she is the Elemental Power of Air...one of the four "uncaring" gods
