Posted - 13 Oct 2006 : 16:14:30 If you go to his files, the relevant books that he got his info from are in a column on the far right. Just go down to Zaknafien and check there. Kuje is really a life saver when it comes to this! |

Posted - 12 Oct 2006 : 17:40:33 My only point on wether or not they are in the previous editions is that those editions seem to me to be so scattered adn the ideas are more qualitative than quantitative. Which is alright for storytelling but in a game that by definition needs rules its not the best. I take lore from 2ed (I dont really have anything from 1ed) but all game rules I use 3+E. |

beirnadri tell me, is that 2e or 3e
It is 1st, 2nd and 3rd edition..they have been around from the beginning...it was more for weapons in 1st and 2nd...now with optional rules and the ease of making constructs in 3rd E. anything could be an intelligent item
though I remember in some modules intelligent items/weapons that are really trapped souls of living beings that thus would have class levels (but wouldn't be able to advance further)
and I think in Volo's Guide to All Things Magic Crenshinabon is described in detail |

Posted - 12 Oct 2006 : 11:46:54 I switched from 2nd edition to 3.x because it makes my life as DM much easier, and I don't get any more annoying questions from people how this or that is to be rolled.
I still use source material and adventures from the previous editions and will allways do so. |

Posted - 12 Oct 2006 : 06:54:18 Indeed.
It's a rare occurence for me to rely strictly on 3e rules in my campaigns. I started with 1e... incorporated elements of 2e when it was released, most of it actually, and now, in 3e/3.5e... I borrow what I like. As such, most of my campaigns are run using a 1e/2e D&D/AD&D/OD&D ruleset system with a sprinkling of 3e rules for "taste."

Posted - 12 Oct 2006 : 06:50:49 I'd rather play 2e, it didn't have so many complicated rules but most people have moved on. :) However, I still have all my 1e and 2e material. |

Posted - 12 Oct 2006 : 06:46:33 interesting...thank you...ummm...i feel like im the only one who still plays 2e is there nobody else???? |
| Beirnadri Magranth |
Posted - 12 Oct 2006 : 06:39:48 I don't know how to play 2ed d&d. the only thing I know from that edition is that thaco means To hit AC 0. 3ed IMHO is far superior, as I suggested in your other thread. If you are determined to find the exact definition in older editions you would have to ask a different sage... that is if there even are rules for that in the older editions.
edit: oh and u can call me -beir for short its easier for you guys! |

sorry kuje... anyways second question: does crenshinabon have a level since it has a consiance???
No, it does not. Volo's Guide to All Things Magical, which you would find in that link I gave you in another thread, has the 2E stats for it.
As does Accursed Tower module. :) |

Posted - 11 Oct 2006 : 18:29:12 umm, topic...though Errutu plays a big part in the Drizzt storyline of novels he/it was just an average, run-of-the-mill balor tanar'ri
ahhh, the poor Gleaming Horseshoe Brigade...they were never the same after Szass Tam knitted each trooper that lavender muffler and matching booties to equip each crack warrior with "winter" gear
After the Brigade's untimely defeat in that mountain pass it is now trendy in Thesk to say you caught someone "purple footed" when you get the jump on them

Posted - 11 Oct 2006 : 17:42:43 Although it is rumored in Rashemen that the new banner of Ssazz's has been of his own manufacture and that since he had his troops carry it even the sturdiest giants and gnolls, who are still breathing of course, have deserted and that the "Gleaming Horseshoe Brigade" as it is inaptly called, for that thing looks like everything BUT a horseshoe (actually he wanted to show everyone his "crowning glory"), is the laughing stock everywhere...as long as it is seen from a distance.
Even his commanders deserted the unit, now Tam uses it only for policing, or cleaning gutters from vermin, unless they are undead.
The Simbul in a rare flash of pity is reported to weep over the misuse of a "silver-dragon-snake-like-no-wait-it-looks-like-a-spleen-with-rays-shooting-out-of-its-eyes?" thing |

Zzass in speedos...frightening, good thing Eltab taught him some of the knitting methods, otherwise we'd be likely to see those cards return. Although if you've seen his knitwork you kinda wish he DID return to those cards...
yeah, he is no Eltab...but then, who really is?

I heard that tapistry somehow evolved into some sort of living construct...and you know how Lorloch is such a softy and couldn't get rid of it so now he pays the thing scale wages to "lose" Tam's other attempts of knitting and embroidering |

Yeah, Eltab has a killer warp knit method...and is hellishly handy with a loom too...which is how the Nars seduced Eltab...Arcadian Pine Loom they say...
I heard Zzass only switched to knitworks after Lorloch dissed Tam's from-the-heart homemade gift cards he always sent out, you know, the one with the pictures of Tam in a speedo vacationing at different lavish and exotic holiday spots with the "wish you were here" caption?

True enough , hence Demogorgon wearing gloves... it kinda made me suspicious.
Eltab's misuse was never proven, since he did win the 346,874,294th Annual Abyssal Knitting Competition with flying colors I'd say that the burnmarks on his hands came from the exceptional speed. You know, tracktion and all that... and I mean, boy! he was damn fast with those needles.
I think the towels in Zzass Tam's place were knitted by Eltab in two tendays, quite a feat to supply such a big-ass dwelling with towels. Which was another reason for Zzass to keep Eltab imprisoned, knitworks became, after all, his trademark gift for weddings, birthdays, and, strangely enough, invasions...
