Posted - 26 Apr 2006 : 03:40:23 I have a player keen to run a dwarf PC with his origins in the Stonelands. His backstory is that he is the last survivor of a small clanhold that was wiped out some years ago.
I don't recall any canon references to dwarves settling anywhere in the Stonelands. However, my idea was that, since according to LEoF Tethyamar was founded by dwarves "migrating north and east along the Storm Horns" it might make sense that somewhere near the edges, near the Storm Horns or Desertmouth Mts, there could have been some kind of remote mine, or a waystop on the trade route from Tethyamar to the Far Hills.
Does this sound feasible? Or are there any canon references I've missed? It only needs to be a backwater settlement, nbot a major dwarf hold.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!

'Tis not a settlement as such, though the dwarven brotherhood -- the Glittering Sword -- used to be active through the Stonelands raiding evil-aligned merchant caravans and local Zhentish forces active in the region. See Dwarves Deep for more.
Perhaps your dwarf PC used to run with them or was the offspring from members of the group.
