What do you think about character wealth in the Forgotten Realms setting? Pg. 135 of the 3.5 DMG has character starting wealth for characters above 1st level. Do these amounts seem fair? Does Faerun have a shift toward richer or poorer player characters? I know Faerun is a high-magic campaign setting but what about wealth?
I could see it going either ways... Especially depending on where you are from. |

Depends on the campaing and the players. In my current campaign, due to the quests chosen by my players, they were scrapping for any money until Level 8. Since they sold off a bunch of art and magic items, they have now become just poor. I think that the average party member has around 40k worth of stuff at 10th level.
But in general, the higher the level the 'richer' the party. Don't forget that some of that base starting value can be ownership of property as well. |
