Hi all! ive started a new campaign based in the Realms, and im useing the lifes' bazaar adventure in issue 97 of dungeon. after reading the module, i figured id place it in the firestep mountains on the golden road (near the lake of steam) what im looking for is where i can find more info on that region, and what kind of locations/ ruins that would be nearby . I do have the Forgotten Realms campaign setting book, so any old modules or setting info would be nifty :)also, is the area a more 'arabic'type region? thanks for any help!

Im not sure what it stands for but they are Electronic Downloads (are they the words which the 'E' and 'D' stand for!?)

The ESD is a shell around a PDF (Acrobat) file. They are basically official FR products available online..... there are some links over here.

It has had some influence from Calimshan, which might give it a little bit of a 1001-nights flavor, maybe even more Ottoman... Mix that with a little Greek/Byzantium and add in a touch of jungle, feral halflings and wild elves and you've got a decent flavor of the region IMO.

My mistake. At least one module i didn't read

<Looks blankly at zemd.>

... Just because I wasn't here in the weekend?

<Skulks away muttering, winking at Pinnball Wizard...>

Ah, yes...

<Turns around looks at zemd and Pinnball Wizard...>

<From a pile of a lot of scrolls, zemd takes three to give to Pinball Wizard>
I suggest that you read
-The FRCS always useful
-Empires of the Shining Sea
-Empires of the South

The latter talks about regions near the lake of Steam: Amn, Tethyr and Calimshan
-Pirates of the Srea of Fallen Stars could also be useful

its the firestep mountains, south of Innarlith on the golden road..the mountains are in the middle of lake of steam, chondalwood and the Shaar.. :)
Ranaghar Tsaran Posted - 16 Feb 2003 : 19:57:11
arabic region, you say? Well...It can be something near Anauroch desert, can be something near Calimshan or it can be far away from Faerun...in Kara-Tur, maybe...

I have not idea where the place you are referring to is placed in the Forgotten Realms but if could explain where it is, I might scout the FR Interactive Atlas for some dungeons and what not.
