Posted - 12 Sep 2005 : 19:09:26 One of my player is a female drow wizard (9th level). She's a Vhaeraun worshiper from Cormanthor's drow. (She ended up in Sword coast north after she stumbled on a portal linking some ruins in elven court to ardeep forest).
In the recent time, she met a calishite wiz/shadow adept and she joined the Dark Dagger Skullport chapter.
While Lloth was silent, the later group (with her) finally made an attack against the Lloth worshipers of the Port of Shadow, capturing the highest level cleric and sacrificing her to Vhaeraun.
For this reason and others, she have absolutely no interest in a new patron deity.
In last session, the shadow adept approached her about the Shadow weave, in which she's interested.
I'm using the old 3.0 pre-requisite/effect of the Shadow weave magic feat (-2 to wis, Shar can give it back) and I was thinking if some sort of alliance or anything like that could logically be made between Shar and Vhaeraun...
I want her to go on Shadow weave path and don't want her to quit her God..
What do you think about it ?

I guess that does make one thing I am happy with about 3.5E. Access to the Shadow Weave is easier to create a character for and therefore makes NPC villians a little more easy to make.

Posted - 13 Sep 2005 : 02:02:07 I don't see a problem either. In Erevis Cale trilogy, a follower of Cyric named Vraggen is a Shadow Adept.
In fact, in RotA, the protagonist is a Shadow Adept and he's totally against Shar and the Shades. |

Posted - 13 Sep 2005 : 01:01:22 True - but the same issue occurred in Starlight and Shadows - Shakti basically held lip service to Lolth, while focusing more on Vhaeraun's requests - his Drow adventurer could spend time paying lip service to Vhaeraun but foster her relationship with Shar

Posted - 12 Sep 2005 : 21:18:53 I don't see a problem with it, really. I doubt their could be an alliance between Shar and Vhaeraun, but she could become a servant of both deities. Example: Shakti, the priestess in the Starlight and Shadows, was a loyal worshipper of both Lolth and Vhaeraun. If your Drow female could show some sort of alligience to Shar, I believe the deity of betrayal might allow her some power.
